Kyle Christopher Herbert

Kyle primarily represents individuals who have suffered serious injuries to their person or their property. He has represented a broad range of corporate and individual clients in insurance coverage disputes, commercial tort, breach of contract cases, and personal injury claims, in both state and federal courts.

His practice focuses on assisting individuals who have been injured on the job or in other types of accidents. Kyle represents individuals across a broad range of industries including, oil and gas, maritime and trucking. He also works for individuals who have been injured in car accidents, trucking accidents, tire tread accidents, industrial accidents, toxic exposure, and construction site and trenching accidents.

Kyle is a member of numerous professional and community associations and is dedicated to those organizations:

-Kyle currently serves as a member of the State Bar of Texas Disciplinary Committee.

-Kyle currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Houston Trial Lawyers Association and is a member of American Association for Justice (AAJ).

-Kyle recently completed a three year term of aervice as a member of the Texas Trial Lawyer's Association - Board of Advocates.

-Kyle is devoted to the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, spending countless hours defending and protecting the rights of Texans who might otherwise be denied justice.  Each legislative session, Kyle donates his personal time and funds to advocate for the rights of injured Texans.

-Kyle sits on the Board of Directors of Volunteer Houston.  For 40 years, Volunteer Houston has been the city's sole recruiting and referral service connecting volunteers to a broad spectrum of diverse nonprofit organizations. Over the past two years these efforts have resulted in the mobilization of 71,000 volunteers who have helped transform lives and create lasting change throughout Houston, Harris County and seven surrounding counties. The work done by Volunteer Houston inspires other nonprofits to think big, develop more engaging volunteer opportunities, and accelerates the success of our nonprofit community.

-Kyle also serves on the Advisory Board of the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center. The Arboretum is a 155-acre nature sanctuary located in Houston’s Memorial Park and dedicated to providing nature education and facilities for the children of Texas.

Kyle is a devoted husband to his wife, Mary, and doting father of their daughters, Katherine “Etta”  and Hollis.

Prior to licensure as an attorney, Kyle interned at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and in Harris County Probate Court Number One as an intern to the Honorable Russell Austin.

Kyle practiced primarily as a defense lawyer until 2007. Kyle represented some of the world’s largest shipping and maritime service companies, as well as a variety of companies engaged in oil and gas exploration. Kyle also had the opportunity to defend a variety of small local businesses in construction accidents, premises cases, and industrial accidents.

In the Fall of 2007, Kyle, with longtime friend, Shane McClelland, founded Herbert & McClelland, LLP. The firm started in Kyle’s dining room and moved into proper offices a couple of weeks later. Kyle is dedicated to the practice of law and finds immense pride in the growth of this firm and the results obtained for his clients.

Kyle is a member of the Houston and American Bar Associations, and is licensed to practice law in Texas. He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas.

After receiving a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Texas at Austin, Kyle earned his juris doctorate from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas.
