Amazing attorney and friend

Cathy was recommended to me years ago when I first started going through my divorce, and I wish I would have hired her then. I thought she was more than I could afford, but after a five year divorce, I knew it would have been much quicker and cheaper with her by my side. Unlike the other attorney's... I hired (and ended up having to fire), she didn't just take my money and show up for court. She cared. And not just her, EVERYONE in her office had a vested interest in my case and my kids. They knew how difficult this road had already been for us and how much more difficult it was going to be. They were understanding, patient, kind and absolutely amazing. I wasn't just up against a jerk ex that didn't care if he destroyed our children to get to me, he actually had people willing to lie to that end. Not just friends and family, an actual licensed professional. As difficult as it was and as grim as the outcome looked, Cathy, Megan and Karen NEVER left our side. They could have had us settle or give in to the ridiculous demands of the other side, but they didn't. They knew that even if the lie was never found out we wanted to do whatever we could to try to get the kids out of that environment. We planned and prepared for weeks before the trial and they made the process as pleasant as it could possibly be. I was in amazing hands with Cathy and Megan during the trial. Not only did they stick to the facts to try to keep the case as civil as possible, but they were able to get ALL of the facts of the case out in the open. Win or lose, I can't tell you how amazing that was, and against all odds, the judge ruled in our favor. I know Cathy and her team are the only reason my kids are thriving right now. We owe so much to her that we will never be able to articulate or pay back. Having her represent me gave me hope for the first time in many many years. You would think with all of her years of experience she would be hardened to the process, like so many of the attorneys I've encountered, but it seems to have had the opposite impact on her. She cares so much about the human factor in her cases and what's going on in our lives, not just what's relevant to court. She's renewed my faith in lawyers and after 8 long terrible years, my family and I can now sleep well at night. If you're looking to get back at your ex or engage in mud slinging or any such nonsense, don't hire her. It's a waste of both of your time and money. If you're doing your best to co-parent and help your children cope with life after divorce and your ex is deliberately and maliciously interfering with that and you have no other option, call Cathy. Tell her what's going on, tell her what you hope to accomplish, and get moving in the right direction for the good of your family. My only regret is that I hoped for too long that things would get better and that I was somehow avoiding a more acrimonious divorce by not pursing legal action. Trust me when I tell you that is not the case. Having an attorney doesn't make your divorce worse, it protects you in case the other party wants to make it bad. Even if you're sure your divorce is going to go smoothly and you can both act like adults and in the best interests of your children, Cathy and her associates are absolutely outstanding in mediation. Even if everyone agrees, divorce is very stressful and the mediation part of it is just awful. They make the process smooth and as stress free as possible. They do everything they can to keep negotiations calm and rational and to present all of the options with pros and cons and possible next steps. I absolutely ADORE Cathy and her no nonsense approach to everything. She is just what we needed and I couldn't be more thankful and grateful to count her as one of my dear friends. Even if you don't think you need Cathy, trust me ... you do. She's the perfect fit for every type of divorce and you will be so glad to have her during this process.

Very Grateful

Very Grateful I was able to work with Mrs. Hale for my divorce. At a time that is stressful, Cathy, took the time to answer my questions and concerns. She addressed important matters and I was simply in aw of watching her work during the mediation process. I would hire her again in a heartbeat.

Child Support

Cathy was a fantastic asset to us as our attorney in a child support dispute. She made the mediation process as smooth as possible explaining the pros and cons of each possible decision to be made. Her vast experience in matters like these was invaluable. I would highly recommend her to anyone see...king help with family law.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
