Marc Jason Krasney

I attended South Texas College of Law, graduating in 1999, and spent eight years as a litigator with two different firms. As much as I enjoyed litigation and arguing in the courtroom, my true passion was counseling businesses. I realized that small and mid- sized businesses and self-employed people needed a change from the traditional billing concept and devised a way to connect businesses with my expertise without the huge surprise legal bill at the end. Based on that idea, I opened the Krasney Law Firm in 2007 to meet the needs of my business clients. My firm is different. We use technology as much as possible and charge a reasonable fair fee—often times a flat fee. Many of our clients correspond with us by phone or email throughout the day. In fact, many of my clients I have not met in person. My hours are flexible just like people’s businesses. With that, I give my clients my cell phone number and ask they call when they need me.

This firm has been built on, mainly, referrals, both from clients and trusted legal colleagues, to become a successful small law firm in the greater Houston area. I am grateful for the trust and confidence I received from these people.

In the first years, I focused only on those businesses. However, over the years, many of the employees and principals of those businesses, after establishing significant trust in me and often times becoming personal friends, would turn to me with their personal legal problems. Each time, I would listen and refer their needs to another trusted colleague. However, my client would, then, have to start over and establish that same faith and trust with a new lawyer. Now, that issue is solved-- the Krasney Law Firm has morphed the business concept and applied it to the average person who needs a lawyer. Every one should have access to a "go-to" lawyer who has that person's interests at heart. If I cannot best assist you, I find the most qualified lawyer to handle the case. But, I stay involved at no extra cost, monitoring the case and outside law firm and explaining the process to you every step of the way.

Most of my clients are on a monthly retainer for their businesses. At first they were a bit skeptical but when they used the services and saw that the extra bills were not attached for the services, they continued. I am proud today to have some of the same clients that I did when the firm started almost 10 years ago.

I also try to give back to the community, volunteering for various functions, attending charity events, including crossfit or running competitions. Moreover, I am committed to pro bono activities where possible and representing causes that I believe in passionately.
