Worst lawyer

I hired Carol Bailey for my high profile case , i paid her $8000 total just to hand my case over to another lawyer who i did not know or ever met, a month before trial and had to pay an additional 10,000 for trial to a lawyer i did not choose but i had no choice because since the case was so far alon...g no lawyers wanted to sign off & work on the case last minute & the lawyer she put in charge of my case was terrible and didn't even show up on court dates and had to reschedule due to being out of town on a different trial , worst lawyer wish i could give no stars , she also tried to scare me by saying the prosecuter wants to drop my bond but if i paid extra $250 she would stay late and talk to the judge but i thought thats what lawyers were for

Misleading

She quoted me $2500 at 1st and kept changing the cost I ended up paying $6,000. She would cover up the writing on my reset papers, that said 500 fine telling me they wanted to give me 5 years. We kept coming to court me paying her $1,500 every time we go.

Swindler

Mrs. Bailey misled me as to what she would charge , basically agreed to represent me for a disclosed amount and doubled her fees on the day of court after I had compensated her for original amount , she withdrew from my case. never to return my calls

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
