Justin’s practice focuses on civil litigation, commercial dispute resolution, and strategic legal counsel for businesses. Justin has extensive experience in representing clients’ interests before courts and agencies and in providing practical, legal guidance and solutions to businesses. He has successfully tried cases in state courts, federal courts, and in front of arbitration panels. His clients have included large publically traded companies, foreign corporations, and closely held businesses, as well as individual entrepreneurs and investors.
Justin handles a broad variety of complex business litigation, including breach of contract, fraud, partnership disputes, minority shareholder oppression, covenants-not-to-compete, tortious interference, employment matters, and intellectual property disputes. He also represents clients in their dealings with state and federal agencies, such as the U.S. Department of Labor, the Texas Workforce Commission, and the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners.
In addition to his controversy practice, Justin advises clients on a number of contract and regulatory issues, including employment contracts, mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, and corporate formation. He also serves as a mediator in civil lawsuits and as an arbitrator in legal fee disputes.
Prior to Strother Law Firm, Justin worked at one of the nation's most preeminent law firms, Vinson & Elkins, where his practice was focused on representing large companies in complex litigation.
Justin supports the arts in Houston by providing his services for a reduced rate or on a pro bono basis to Houston’s performing and visual artists.

The best business attorney I have ever had.
Justin is the first point of contact for most of my business decisions. He is deeply knowledgeable, professional, pragmatic, and always helps me understand the pitfalls BEFORE I make decisions. He is also a great litigator, winning every dispute we have had. He has negotiated many deals to our adv...

A very grounded attorney. Sharp and reliable.
Justin was very much on target with his advice. He was very realistic with regard to the many decisions that had to made. Helped really understand the trial processes we were involve in. He was always open to hearing my "interpretation" of the law and taking it into account in his advise. Most imp...

Saved my business!
As a successful business owner having a good lawyer on your team is a must. A client of mine first referred me to Justin when she had found out I was not happy with my current lawyer. Not only did I get a good lawyer but I got one of the best I have ever worked with. He answered my emails sometime...
"I endorse this lawyer. A true professional who is always prepared, courteous, and reasonable to work with."
"I endorse this lawyer. He has commitment to his clients, to the profession, and to the larger community in which he practices. He is a skilled and dedicated lawyer and an assert to his clients and the legal community."
"Justin is kind, compassionate and hard-working. He is dedicated to obtaining the best results for his clients and, when he is handling a case, is truly committed to his client’s cause. I have had the pleasure to work with Justin on a significant litigation matter and would welcome the opportunity to do so again."
"I have litigated against Justin and found him to be a skilled adversary, as well as completely professional. He did a very good job of representing his client and a thorough one as well. I have referred cases to Justin when conflicted out--and he is one of the few lawyers I will refer my litigation cases to. Class act and I imagine, he has a great 'beside' manner the clients will appreciate."
