I was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I moved to St. Petersburg, Florida to finish high school and then to Orlando to attend undergrad. I graduated from the University of Central Florida in just three years, with a B.A. in Political Science with a concentration in criminal justice. Throughout my life, I have always been a zealous advocate for those who need a voice.
I moved to Houston, Texas to attend South Texas College of Law for its nationally renowned advocacy program. During my three years at South Texas, I traveled around the country competing on the moot court advocacy teams, earned my certificate in mediation and passed the bar exam.
I dedicate my practice to criminal defense work serving southeast Texas, including in Harris, Brazoria, Montgomery, Fort Bend, Waller and Galveston counties. I believe that every person charged with a crime, regardless of the crime charged, deserves a zealous advocate. I believe that each client deserves to have an honest, hard working attorney in their corner.

Welch DOES NOT DISAPPOINT!!!!!
HIGHLY Recommended !! Mrs. Welch cares for her clients ! She's extremely reliable, as well as her assistant ! She kept me up to speed about EVERYTHING pertaining to my cases. Did I mention she got the charges dismissed??
"I endorse this lawyer. I met Kate in the Harris County Courthouse elevator. At the time she was a brand new lawyer with a firm commitment to practice criminal law. I have followed her practice over the years and worked with her on cases and can say without reservation she is a fearless fighter for her clients. I know it wasn't easy being a young woman breaking into the male dominated world of criminal defense but she didn't shy away from the challenge and today is considered a top notch criminal defense attorney."
"Kate Welch is a force to be reckoned with in the courtroom. She stands up to fight for her clients when everyone else thinks the case is hopeless. She is a true defender of justice and the Constitution."
