Biography
When I joined Michael Caddell, I was a young lawyer from California with a strong background in corporate defense litigation. From the defense side of the docket, rarely did I witness a plaintiffs' lawyer champion his client's case with the intelligence, strategy, compassion and fierceness that has become the well-known signature of Caddell & Chapman. Mike and I have striven to select lawyers who possess the perseverance, strong ethics, and natural talent required to successfully assert claims on behalf of clients who have been taken advantage of, whether they be the victims of commercial overreaching or of poorly designed products.
Perhaps my greatest personal satisfaction is derived from our representation of foreign clients. Though proud to be an American, I am ashamed of those American corporations which cavalierly engage in unfair business practices and the distribution of defective products in foreign countries. Caddell & Chapman is one of the very few law firms which has willingly undertaken the claims of foreign citizens and been successful in (1) persuading American courts to grant foreign citizens the same privileges of legal process to which Americans are legally entitled and (2) persuading American juries that victims of American corporate negligence should be treated no differently than an American citizen.
Our focus is on the one thing that is often forgotten in litigation: the client. Never do we lose sight of who we represent, what they have suffered and what they seek to achieve through the American legal system.
