Ed's firm represented me in a lawsuit, Buck Foston's LLC vs the City of New Brunswick, NJ. When he finished arguing my case, the jury awarded me $1.535MM, legal fees, and punitive damages against the mayor. From the beginning Ed and his team outlined and followed an impressive legal strategy. His... arguments and presentation, from defending against Summary Judgement to the the courtroom, were well conceived and excellently managed to conclusion. Ed argued the case in court. His recall of the facts and minute details of the case were nothing short of astounding. This was a highly detailed case yet, by the end, Ed would be reminding me - and the city's witnesses - of important details that I had forgotten about. Most significantly, his courtroom presence and witness interrogation was so masterful that he won over the judge and the jury. He was so prepared when he interrogated city employees - including the mayor - that he would rarely, if ever, look at his notes. He so commanded the courtroom that I could only think of the courtroom scene from "A Few Good Men." The city called four key witnesses - the mayor, the police/ABC liaison, a business expert, and a traffic expert. Ed destroyed the credibility of the expert witnesses in a manner easily understood by the jury. And, he exposed the mayor and the police/ABC liaison for lying during their testimony. Lawsuits against deep-pocket municipalities can be long, drawn out affairs. Through it all, I never doubted Ed's commitment to the case or his cancer for the effect it was having on my family.
