After falling more than a few years behind in my taxes I started receiving lots of threatening mail from the IRS. I finally got enough guts to call them and set up a payment plan that was way out of my comfort zone to pay. After doing that a year I learned they were putting a lien on my credit report... because I simply could not catch up. I felt helpless and it honestly would keep me up at night. My mailbox was full of iRS relief letters, so many that I avoided the mail man because I was so embarrassed by the amount of agencies out there that to me look like a scam. After throwing most of them away I came across a letter on real stationary from Gary Tidwel. I opened it up right away and something told me to give this man a call. By this point I wasn’t even scared and really just wanted to know if he could help me or if I just needed to go into hiding! Mr. Tidwell and I spoke and set up a time to meet in person and from the get go he was very honest about his experience and he told me that he has success in winning offers in compromise but that it would take a little time and that he would need me to follow his instruction and guidance on getting my affairs in order. I did exactly what he told me to do which was, pay my new quarterly taxes on time and do not acquire any new debt. It was about a year later after meeting him that we were ready to submit my offer in compromise and WE WON!!!!!!!!!! I am forever grateful to Mr. Tidwel and Sydney his daughter, I had lots of questions and called them a lot and they were always so professional and happy to help me. Gary was introduced to our company through my CPA who had informed me of his exceptional work ethics and his experience & knowledge dealing with the IRS. Upon meeting Gary at our initial consultation, he explained to me what to expect through out the duration of the IRS audit. I immediately knew th...at our company had the right representation. The audit took about a year. During this time Gary would stop by the office to coach us for paperwork requested by the IRS and deliver and meet w/ the auditor. He coached my office staff and monitored all activities to ensure that the production of documents requested by the IRS was precise and directly relative to each of the auditors request. Gary was this teams "coach" through the whole process. I can tell you that I have never been through an IRS audit and I am certain that the results would have been less than favorable. We have just completed our audit and i actually walked out of the IRS offices SMILING!. I would highly recommend consulting with Gary should you be challenged with an IRS audit.

He and his partner, Kirk were hired in 2012 to help with a tax problem. They advertised heavily in the Houston area with letters etc. The initial meeting was positive, "we're going to fight this" "that's why I went to law school to protect the small businessman" , bla bla bla. As soon as the fee is p...aid they disappear. Hearings get missed, papers go unfiled, bank accounts get seized, etc. I finally had enough when a hearing was scheduled in August,2014. Tidwell was cc'd a copy but does a "no show". It's rescheduled for September, another "no show". Around the middle of February, 2015 I receive a letter from Mr. Tidwell advising me that he left the firm in September and wanted to know if I would like to retain him to handle my tax problem. Really Gary? I think I'll pass. In hind sight their "big successful firm" was a house of cards with 1 lawyer trying to pull in clients from Houston, 3-4 locations, San Antonio and who knows where else. One of the hands even bragged that you didn't need "brick and mortar" law offices you just do it all on the Internet. I guess it is easier to hide from your clients if you don't have real offices. He did manage to afford one of the best white-collar criminal defense attorneys in Houston. Don't say you weren't warned
