I don’t really know where to start because there is so many great things to say about my experience with Chris Denuna. My arrest for DWI occurred in August 2018. If you have just been arrested for DWI then you will soon find it can be a confusing, drawn out and a costly offense. Luckily I made the ...right choice of hiring Chris! I interviewed many people before hiring Chris as my mom has been a paralegal for 30 years. I had the option of going with a family friend or someone older and cheaper but I wanted to sleep at night. First off, The Thiessen Law Firm is about as intimidating of a firm you can get in the Houston area when we are talking DWI's. I have an anxiety disorder and the first thing I noticed about Chris was that he put me at ease. Never, not for a moment did he ever talk down to me, nor dismiss a concern or judge me. The thing that stood out the most was empathy and I truly believe that Chris cares about me and my case. He spent countless hours texting back and forth with me, answering questions and concerns to put my mind at ease even when I'm sure I was annoying; because he knew my anxiety issues and treated me according. This made the process sooo much easier because I knew he was going to bat for me. After all this time communicating with Chris I truly consider him a friend. His confidence and knowledge is very apparent when he is speaking with people. And while I did have a concern about his age (he is two years younger then me) I think there is something to be said about hiring someone young enough to have the energy to handle case loads and give you the attention you deserve while making a name for themselves vs someone who is older and not as passionate. He never gave me false hope. He told me my options upfront and was more than fair with pricing. He worked with me because he knew I was unemployed due to the pending case and my line of work. Now for a little bit of background on my case. “Allegedly” I had two accidents (none involving other vehicles) I refused to blow. My blood bac was a 0.11 and it was written in the report that I had a open container and went into a ditch right in front of police. I also have previous marijuana charges from 14 years ago as well as a previous criminal mischief charge. First Chris to told me to go to the DMV ASAP and get a new ID within the correct time frame which is important and went on to win my ALR hearing to keep my license. I wanted to fight it and Chris was up for the challenge. By May 30th 2019 my case was dismissed and all I had to do for terms was a few AA meetings, and a letter from a sponsor, 24 hours community service and a DWI education course. He maintains a close relationship with the DA’s and knows the judges, one of which used to be a DWI defense attorney. Chris has already filed the paperwork for expungement as well so it will be wiped out the system completely by the end of August. It’s also worth noting that I spent a lot less even with the expungement then what the average person spends on a DWI case in the long run. You can’t go wrong with Chris if you want wonderful representation with a name that will scare the DA on a budget price for the best DWI firm in Houston. I would 100% hire him again and will be keeping him on speed dial!

I was charged with Felony controlled substance and DWI. My blood was taken and I was .09 just above the legal limit. Chris and his firm got my Felony dismissed and this being my 2nd DWI at first could not get my DWI dismissed.
