Lead Counsel for three plaintiffs in a lawsuit against Exxon and several others concerning the Liberty Waste disposal site in Highlands, Texas. The case was tried to a jury for 5 weeks in Judge Shearn ... Smith's court in May and June 1989, resulting in a jury verdict for the three plaintiffs in an amount of approximately $1,000,000. This case was one of the first cases in Texas to be successfully prosecuted on behalf of exposed plaintiffs who lived in close proximity to a hazardous waste dumpsite. This case was also the subject of an award winning documentary on Channel Two called The Chemical People.
