Not helpful enough

I called him about my situation told him about he told me he was going to transfer me to his assistant. He did I left her a voice message she never called back. I called him back to let him know he told me to go to his office with my paperwork with a fee of 250 dollars. He didn't help me with my conc...ern over the phone at all.

I do my best to provide FREE ASSISTANCE to callers on the phone every day on matters that involve a quick or simple answer. Unfortunately, sometimes I am not able to help someone on the phone due to the complexity of their legal matter or the need to review documents. In those cases I must schedule an office consultation to review documents and discuss the facts in greater detail. We usually charge a consultation fee of $250 because the meeting usually last about 1 hour. I truly wish I could provide our services for free to every person. Really. I would love to be able to do that, but we just can't. We often provide FREE PRO BONO SERVICES to low income people every month. I am sorry that I was not able to help this person over the phone for free. We do our best when it is possible. I hope that this person will call again and I will do my best to help him or her over the phone for FREE - as I do every day with many people. Thank you.

THE MOST EFFECTIVE, LEGALLY CAPABLE, HONEST, RESPECTFUL ATTORNEY I'VE EVER MET OR DEALT WITH PROFESSIONALLY OR PERSONALLY!!!

Mr. Katine, IS AWESOME! Here's a bit of back ground on my case, see for yourself how TRULY REMARKABLE this man is. In 2013 I was diagnosed with a deadly disease. That same year I began chemical therapy. There was a very real chance I could pass on. That being the case I decide to provide for my only ...child who was an adult and her teenage son, that I love dearly. Both of whom had lived with me for the past 8 years due to finacial issues. In the possibly fatal condition I was in and before I started a treatment that could kill me I put all my possessions ie my home almost paid off, 2 vehicles paid for, inherented antiques (as I'm the oldest person alive in our family) everything I owned including ALL BANK ACCOUNTS etc were put in the adult childs name. As a parent with only one child and after living in the same home for 8 years I believed I could trust my adult child with my life. An agreement with adult child was written down and placed in fire box safe at the home. It stated that all possessions would be returned if I was (GOD WILL) to servive and money would only be used as I allocated until I passed if that was Gods will. About 7 or 8 months after I'd servived treatment I was beginning to grow peach fuzz, all the sores were going away, I was feeling a bit better. Best of all my 6 month labs after treatment came back showing everything was GONE, THANK GOD! I was up more now and began to notice that late payment statements were coming and I checked my bank accounts and A LOT MORE money was gone then should have been. Then I found the fire safe had been broken. I thought it had been dropped or fallen. When I looked for our written agreement it was GONE! When I questioned my adult child it got ugly and in my beaten down hairless condition she called the police on me and tried to have me arrested and taken to jail!!! That's the first time I called Mr. Katine. He talked to me immediately. We dicussed my situation and he said for a case like mine, in which I'd put everything into the adult childs name it would be a huge disadvantage for me because adult child now legally owned everything I'd worked 30 years to attain. Mr. Katine told me it would require a $20,000. retainer. REMEMBER; MITCHELL KATINE isn't just any attorney he's a SUPREME COURT WINNING ATTORNEY and a HERO FOR THE UNDER DOG!!! 2 days later my adult child had me served by an attorney. The document stated I had 3 days to leave her propery! I was ALLOWED TO BRING 2 SUITCASES OF CLOTHES and I would be escourted out of adult childs home by the police!!!!! I liturally fell to the ground my knees gave out. I would have to give all my hard earned possessions to my adult child even though I was getting better.I was loosing my home, my vehicles all my money disappeared the day before I was served. Because I'd been so sick and in bed since moving to Texas I knew NO ONE and HAD NO WHERE TO GO but THE STREETS, which would have physically KILLED me in a very short time in the condition I was still in. That's the second time I called Mr. Katine. HE WAS FURIOUS that a trusted adult child would put their own ILL parent out on the street when I told him what had happened and he saw the legal paper that I'd been served. Mr. Katine told me RIGHT THEN I was not going to be out on the street and that he was taking my case pro bono as my adult child had taken all the money in my accounts!!! Mr. Katine hadn't even laid eyes on me yet but he's truly a man that believes in justice as I wish all attorneys did!! The moral of my case is Mr. Katine has worked for an ENTIRE YEAR, on a WEEKLY BASIS on MY CASE WITHOUT ASKING FOR A PENNY because he knew I had nothing left! Who takes a case for FREE that ends up taking a year of VERY VALUABLE TIME INCLUDING NIGHTS and WEEKENDS MANY TIMES? I'll tell you A GREAT MAN ie MITCHELL KATINE! OH YEAH, MR. KATINE with his KNOWLEDGE, COMPASSION and UNBELIEVABLE LEGAL SKILLS got me enough money to PAY CASH FOR MY OWN BEAUTIFUL NEW HOME!

Excellent Lawyer

Mitchell was an exceptional lawyer in helping with our adoption process. He was very informed, and gave us an exact plan of what we needed to do to complete the process. He kept in contact with us through email and phone and he was always reachable. The adoption process was completed less than one mo...nth after my son was born. We are so thankful Mitchell was our lawyer and have recommended him to ours friends.

Adoption

We could not be any more appreciative of how Mitchell helped our family. Prior to meeting Mitchell we had been in the adoption process for well over 1 year and $10,000 in lawyer fees without even a court appearance. Mitchell presented us a with a plan that included a timeline and a cost estimate; b...oth of which he delivered. He had our adoption completed within a month and for half of what we already paid our previous lawyer. Mitchell is a great lawyer you can trust and delivers results. Thank you Mitchell

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
