2 Felony cases

I had two felony charges aggravated assault with a deadly weapon to a family member and child endangerment. The court system messed up my paperwork for my barn I called cheadle right away from jail and he went that same day to the courtroom and got it fixed he didn't have to but he want the extra mil...e to make sure there was no more errors we go to court for about a year because the court system tips switching DA. And at my last court hearing my cases were dismissed both of them. And I know it wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for Cheadle. His only requirement with me is that we kept in touch every day or at least a couple times a week. I highly recommend him and don't expect your lawyer to work for free because he doesn't work for free but he will work with you with your financial situation. And being released from jail I didn't have a job or any money and he worked with what I gave him. He's highly recommended and I will be hiring him for my family lawyer as well.

Paid $170,000 and ended up with court appointed attorney

I was arrested in Harris County Texas in January 2017. I have never been in trouble before so I really did not know about the system, attorneys or anything. While I was in jail I was referred by another inmate to an attorney by the name of William Cheadle. What I did not know is that William Chead...le has people in jail who refer cases to him and he puts money on the commissary for them when he gets a case so it is in that person's best interest to say he is a good attorney. In my experience he was anything but a good attorney. I sat in jail for 4 months after I hired him and gave him the money to bond me out before I was bonded out. I made the mistake of giving this guy a power of attorney to work in my best interest. He was to pull out $10,000 for his retainer and my bond money. Instead he spent all of my money without my consent and gave me no defense. When I say all of my money I mean $170,000 dollars. He paid off his house in Conroe, Texas with my money and then avoided me when I found out. I filed a State Bar complaint back in February because he would not return my calls or update me on the status of my case. This man is a crook and he is not to be trusted. He did not ever speak with me about my case. Since he bailed me out, he was to pay my bills and always paid them late and incurred late fees. I fired him in February of 2018 and I still do not have my retainer back from him nor do I have any accounting from him of the money he spent. He owes me at least $150,000 back and that is minus expenses and me giving him some consideration for the very few (less than 10) hours he worked on my case. He has not even tried to justify spending that much money with any documentation or evidence of work he performed. I have nothing to show for my money whatsoever. I hired him in July 2017, he bailed me out on October 31, 2017 and he paid off his house the first week of November 2017. I guess he does not want to tell me how he spent the money; I know anyway because the police have his bank statements. His house was going to be foreclosed on and he needed to come up with the money so I was the guy he duped. The State Bar is now investigating him because of this conduct. He also lied to the court and told them I am indigent and cannot pay for experts when really he stole my money and spent it on himself and that is why he had to ask the court for money for experts ... just three weeks before my first trial setting. Now I have to depend on a court-appointed attorney who has yet to contact me, and I have a hearing tomorrow. I have heard absolutely nothing from anyone about getting my money returned. I find this attorney to be a crook, dishonest and only out for himself. Stay far, very far away from him so you do not find yourself in the same situation. He has only lied to me and continues to lie and avoid me. He has not tried to pay me back the money he stole from me. I filed a criminal complaint against him in late February 2018 and HPD is investigating. They are supposed to be appointing a special prosecutor because the police believe he has committed a crime too. I have pressed charges and I hope that soon he will have to pay for what he has done. I received zero legal advice or preparation for my case from him for $170,000 This crook made a very stressful situation much worse. Do yourself a favor and do not hire this guy. He is a slick person, a good bullshit artist and he will never speak to you about anything legal. He uses lines like "we will make it happen" and "keep the faith" but never gives any legal advice. All he wants is money; but once he has it, he does nothing. Never give him power of attorney. He is very dishonest and will rip you off. He has no money so I probably will never get mine back.

Wrong Choice

I received child custody battle papers from my ex husband after our divorce being finalized and had a very short deadline to find an attorney to represent me. So I called him and he said he would meet me only with $500 cash and after a week later he needed $4,500. Come to find out after 7 months he h...ad limited amount of work done and unprepared. There were investigative questions that needed to be answered and were to given to me 5 months late. Out of over 20 interrogatory questions, only 5 were given to me over the phone at 830 at night and they were incomplete. He was always late to court and unprepared. I had No receipt of payments whatsoever and after I had asked him to withdraw from my case the court agreed and asked he return the files. After several requests for him to return the files the judge enterviened, and under threat of being in contempt by the judge he finally returned the files. Unfortunately now I havent a clue where I stand with my family law case and he still has yet to sign over my PIP check. Pathetic service, actually no service at all.

Missing In Action

Mr. William K. Cheadle was hired by myself to assist a friend who is incarcerated. Once he received payment, communication to me initiated by him was discontinued. I finally reached him months later and he retorted he had not even secured the case files yet. He agreed to have a contract completed wit...hin 24 hours of payment. This has yet to happen. He has not met with my friend or myself on any occasion to give a report, provide details of how my money was used, or the status of his efforts. I have tried to call him, send emails, and certified mail. All efforts have not been successful. I would never recommend this lawyer. In my opinion, based on my experience, he is a dishonest lawyer. I believe he had every intention to take my money and never do anything we discussed. I believe he felt we would not be able to do anything about it. I plan to take him to small claims court to retrieve money paid, because I have no knowledge of service ever being rendered
