Ruth Yvonne Burton

Mrs. Burton represented my son who was a juvenile that had been certified. Several times I tried to get in contact with her and never got a response. She would show up in court around 11 am and just reset the case without even talking to him or me. She stated that she didnt have to talk to me because... he was a certified adult. After explaining to her that he was not understanding what she was actually saying or talking about she still refused to discuss anything with me. She told my son to sign for a PSI, which is a bench trial, but told him it was his probation hearing and that he would be getting probation. At the end of the hearing the judge sentenced him to 20 years agg, at the age of 17. He had never been in any kind of trouble not even a ticket. After his sentencing she was done with him. She didnt tell him that he had 30 days to appeal the decision. He has been gone 4 1/2 years now and we are just now finding out that he had that time limit to appeal.

Ms. Burton is currently representing my partner who is incarcerated. She has not spoken to him since December and has three times shown up to court then left without even speaking to him. The last time I was present as a witness and Ms. Burton did not even speak to me before leaving the court house.... She does not return calls and obviously doesnt care about the people she is supposed to be representing.
