INCOMPETENT AND UNPROFESSIONAL

My wife retained Mr Manor ( I don't believe he deserves the title of Atty) in June of 2011 after she'd call the police following an altercation for which I was charged with Assault on a family member. Upon obtaining Mr Manor's services, I specifically explained to him that I did not want this to be ...on my record. Therefore, I was willing to take whichever route would prevent that from happening... Mr Manor advised me to take a deal for Deferred Adjudication with 3-yr probation at which point he said to contact him once the probation had been successfully completed so he would get it expunged off my record. My wife and I got separated for 9 months as a result of the issues related to the case. Upon getting back with my wife I found out trough text messages my wife was showing on her phone that Mr Manor, who is married himself, had been making unprofessional and inappropriate advances to my wife for a period of 3-4 months. The professional that I am, I took no action and chose to overlook the situation. I realized that Mr Manor was just an unprofessional prick. Since I recently completed my probation, I decided to contact Mr Manor today as he advised to do 3 years ago so I could begin the expungement process. I wanted to know two things: 1. Since I just completed the probation, how long would it be before it's eligible to be expunged; 2. How much would it cost me? Mr Manor then asked me to TEXT him my name, DOB, and any information pertaining to the case and that he would get back to me with with a quote. After waiting for about 4 hours on some feedback from Mr Manor, I decided to begin inquiring about the issue from other attorneys. So I googled Expungement attorney and got a list. The first gentleman I called stopped me halfway through me explaining to him what I was looking and told me:"Sir, I'm sorry but this type of case is not eligible for expungement EVER in the state of Texas! The attorney who represented you at the time should have told you to not take that deal if you didn't want this on your record." so I got thanked him and hung up. I thought that I would get another opinion so I went ahead and called the next attorney on my list. He said to me: " Mr... I'm sorry to inform you that your case is not eligible for expungement nor non-disclosure in the State of Texas. I'm surprised your attorney didn't inform you of that. I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt and say maybe he didn't know." This attorney then went on to check Mr Manor's record to see how long the latter had been practicing law. He then stated:"Oh wow, he's been a lawyer for 11 years! Such incompetence!!!" I was furious to realize that after all this time, Mr Manor still didn't have the decency to make me explain to me that what I was looking to was not possible. Instead, he asked to send him information and never got back to me. Please be aware of who you allow to handle issues that can affect you for the rest of your life. I take full responsibility for any role I played that led to those charges being filed; However, had I been aware of Mr Manor's mediocrity, he would have never gotten the chance to handle my case

Undeserving of the title Attorney

I retained Attorney Justin L Writt who is in the same business office as R.L. Manor. I had the unfortunate experience who making Mr. Manor's acquaintance as a result as a result of Atty. Writt failing to fulfill his fiduciary of obligations which caused me to have to meet Atty. Writt at their sha...red office to remand my file after a failed court preceeding. I arrived at his office prior to to Atty. Writt as I was seated in his front office I was greeted with profanity and abusive language by Atty. R L Manor who was speaking to someone on the phone. When he noticed I was in the office, he asked "How you doin' ?" To which I replied "offended" . Atty. Manor proceeded to explain that someone was talking bad about his wife and he didn't take that. He then stated "this is my house and my receptionist should have informed me that we had company". As I continued to wait for Atty. Writt to supply the proof if filing, I could hear a discussion going on between he and Atty. Manor regarding my request for the Proof of Publication document. Finally after having waited nearly an hour, the receptionist handed me an envelope with documents dated prior to October 2012. Atty. Writt refused to come discuss why there was no document confirming his submission of the Notice of Publication. Instead, I heard Atty. Manor state "I'll tell her'" in a manner that suggested Atty. Writt was avoiding me. At which point Atty. Manor approached me stating that I would need to make an appointment for the following week to discuss the missing document. His tone was aggressive and his body language threatening. When asked why Atty. Writt would not come speak with me, Atty. Manor became belligerent and said "I told you, make an appointment!" and he proceeded to show me the door. When I advised Atty. Manor that I would be contacting another attorney and the Bar Association, he challenged me by stating "go ahead, if you really have one." We retained Atty. Writt for a simple name change preceding. It was emotionally devastating to have been failed by him as a result of his incompetence. But to have been verbally assaulted by his partner Atty. Manor and to have been treated with such disrespectful behavior while Atty. Writt was able to hear the entire exchange was disheartening. We later confirmed with the court clerk that there was never an actual court date assigned because of his failure to remit the required documents. What both of these attorneys are ignorant to is the fact that I really do have outside legal representation, who is very experienced with filings with the Attorney General's office, the BBB and the Bar Association.
