Priyanka Bhandari

I was born and raised in Sugar Land, Texas, however I moved to Houston as soon as I could. After graduating high school, I went on to attend The University of Texas San Antonio, where I discovered my love for writing. While in university, I began taking creative writing courses, eventually designating my major to English with an Emphasis in Creative Writing. While honing my craft, I also worked as the Features Editor of UTSA's student-run newspaper, The Paisano, and as an editor at the UTSA Writing Center, helping my peers with their writing assignments. At the tail end of my senior year, I submitted one of my short stories, "A Change of Address," to the university-wide writing and art competition. Selected authors, poets, artists, and photographers would be published in the regional journal, Sagebrush Review. To my genuine surprise, I was selected as the first place winner of the fiction portion of the competition, and both my short story and a poem I submitted were published, effectively kicking off my passion for creative writing!

I graduated with Honors in English, and headed back to Houston to begin my legal career at South Texas College of Law. After completing my first year, I applied for membership with the South Texas Law Review to nourish my writing skills, and was accepted. I graduated from South Texas College of Law in 2012 and became a licensed attorney later that year.
While snagging a law degree at South Texas College of Law was my number one priority, I was fortunate enough to meet my husband there as well. After dating for four years, he proposed on the beautiful Greek island of Santorini. Our big, fat, Indian nuptials followed, and we've been happily married ever since. Both avid travelers, my husband and I try to ensure that we see one new country each year, exploring the world one trip at a time!

Currently, my husband and I live in Houston with our beloved two-year-old chocolate lab mix puppy, Otis. While we want to start a family some day, my focus now is to help the families who need me. I am an experienced attorney in all aspects of family law, including custody issues, CPS matters, divorces, and adoptions. I also have experience in the role of mediator, amicus attorney, and ad litem attorney. With a strong writing background, and passion for family law, I strive to be an aggressive and effective advocate for each of my clients.
