Karima Geraldine Maloney

Karima Maloney is a former federal prosecutor whose practice focuses on white-collar criminal defense.  Karima represents business and individuals; whether defendants, targets, subjects or witnesses; in criminal trials and federal investigations.  Karima is committed to providing a vigorous defense for her clients and to reaching the best results in cases and investigations.  If trial is the best strategy for a client, Karima is highly qualified to try a case to a jury verdict. Karima’s trial work is nationally recognized. She is the recipient of the Women in Federal Law Enforcement’s Top Prosecutor Award (2012); and the Attorney General’s John MarshallAward for Outstanding Trial of Litigation (2005).

While serving as Deputy Chief and trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, Criminal Section, Karima investigated hundreds of suspected federal law violations and handled numerous jury trials in federal courts across the country.  She managed complex investigations involving the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Homeland Security, the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms and Explosives, and Offices of Inspector General of multiple federal agencies. 

Karima received her JD from Columbia Law School where she was a senior editor of the Columbia Law Review and a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.  She received her undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis. Karima served as law clerk to the Honorable Vanessa D. Gilmore, United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.  She is a member of The State Bar of Texas.
