Mr. Isaak was a key member of the defense team that secured the acquittal of Robert Kaluza a “well site leader” on the Deepwater Horizon. Over the course of four years of litigation, the trial court d ... ismissed 11 manslaughter charges (affirmed on appeal), and the government itself dismissed 11 more. After a nearly two-week trial on the remaining Clean Water Act charge, Mr. Kaluza was found not guilty by a jury after deliberating for less than an hour. Mr. Isaak’s role on the Kaluza defense team was to lead the legal briefing both before and during trial.
