Breccia M. McDermed

Marie McDermed founded the McDermed Law Firm with the mission to provide individuals with representation that goes above & beyond what people expect from attorneys.  Too many times people say that attorneys do not really listen to the client's concerns or fail to explain things, or never timely respond to clients' questions, phone calls, emails, or any other communication.  Prior to becoming a criminal defense & divorce attorney, Ms. McDermed witnessed first hand how true those negative comments were when a family member had to retain a criminal defense attorney.  It was this infuriating experience that drove Ms. McDermed to strive to change the way attorneys are perceived by ensuring that every client receives an attentive, responsive and compassionate criminal defense lawyer.

 

Marie McDermed grew up in Ft. Worth, Texas.  In 2006, Marie graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, Texas.  She chose to attend Baylor Law School in Waco, Texas because of the school's rigorous program that produces the top trial attorneys in the nation.  Marie graduated from Baylor Law School in 2006.  After working as an associate for five years at a large law firm in Fort Worth, Texas, Marie was ready to branch out on her own. In 2011, she founded the McDermed Law Firm, which handles cases in both Fort Worth and Waco.  

 

Marie has a 16 year-old son who has been the inspiration that has propelled Marie through life and who continues to be her #1 supporter.  In 2004, Marie met the man she would eventually marry in a Kinko's in Waco, Texas.  The young man offered to pay for her fax, and the rest, as they say, is history...
