Ms. Simmons-Gilbert handled my divorce case. I paid my attorney fees and court cost in full, but my final divorce decree wasn't prepared correctly. As an ommission of error done by her legal staff she assured me she would handled the re-filing of the decree and correct the issue. That did not occur... and I was left having to file a name change request with the county court. This error cost me another $300 on top of the $1500 already paid. Mine this was a non-contested divorce with no children or property. Words of advise - get all changes and ommissions of errors in writing when dealing with Ms. Simmons-Gilbert. Consult with other attorneys in the area before signing contract and paying the retainer deposit. I didn't consult with any other attorneys (my fault). I was guaranteed that my case would be handled professionally, which was not the case.
