At our office, we wanted to make a difference in the Central Texas community of families. We knew that the legal process can be intimidating and that contacting a lawyer can take a real leap of faith. We work hard to understand the unique aspects of your case and provide you with meaningful options, so that you feel that your faith in us is justified. Family Law and Criminal Defense are areas that involve many emotions, and where we feel that we can be the most supportive to our community through our service.
At the Law Office of W. David Scales, in Belton, we handle a broad range of legal issues for clients throughout Central Texas. We recognize the legal process can be intimidating. Contacting a lawyer can take a leap of faith. When you come to our offices, you'll get compassion and understanding, and a commitment to work hard to help you reach your goals.
As a criminal defense attorney, David Scales works to make certain your rights are protected. He creates effective strategies for defense of charges associated with misdemeanors and including: DWI/DUI for adults and juveniles.
We are ready and able to support you through the decision making process in Family-related matters:
Child Protective Services Representation
We do a lot of work in Child Protective Services (CPS) court, representing parents of children who are in CPS custody. We also represent family members (aunts, uncles, and grandparents) who fear for the welfare of minor children and seek to have those children placed with them. We have successfully argued for the dismissal of CPS custody actions for clients in Bell County.
Family Law Mediation
In many family law disputes, mediation can be an effective alternative to a costly and time consuming trial. In mediation, both parties are given the opportunity to discuss their divorce or child custody concerns and develop a mutually acceptable resolution. David Scales has extensive training in mediation and has mediated disputes at the state and federal level. He has also been a mediation trainer at both the state and federal level.
In our employment law practice, we work with individuals, including federal civilian employees at Fort Hood, in cases involving unfair or discriminatory treatment in the workplace. These cases include claims of discrimination, sexual harassment, and whistleblower actions under the United States' Equal Employment Opportunity laws and United States' Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) appeals.
At the Law Office of W. David Scales, we make ourselves available when you need us, day or night, and we always go the extra mile to protect your interests. We are compassionate and committed members of our community who believe that we have an obligation to serve others and that our own lives will be enriched by sharing our talents.
