Custody/Adoption

I hired Karen in June for a custody issue to hopefully turn into an adoption with my current husband. She was wonderful and helpful along with her assistant Mary, she was very informative and told me when it was just a waiting game or when it was time to go in and fight! I won custody and am finishin...g up adoption procedures thanks to her, it was affordable (which I didn't have much to spend on this) and she was very comforting even when she was telling me straight facts (no sugar coating) which I appreciate the most! I would hire her again and recommend her to everyone in need.

AMAZING ATTORNEY!

Karen has worked my custody case over the last year. She is attentive to our every need and always responds to our questions in a reasonable time period. She is an honest attorney who will tell it like it is. She is very knowledgable about the law and court systems. I highly recommend Karen for any l...egal service you may need.

Excellent, professional and knowledgeable

I've used Karen on about 5 different issues since my divorce in 1999. All regarding different custody issues and support levels. In every situation, she kept me apprised of what was going on and also made sure I understood what was happening. A different (also excellent) attorney handled my divorc...e, but I found Karen to be much more reasonable that my original attorney. On top of that, she does not beat around the bush and tells you exactly what to expect. She has years of experience dealing with the various judges and understands how to get her point across without upsetting the judge. Getting in touch with any top quality attorney is not easy. I have had friends who got very upset when their attorneys did not immediately return phone calls, but considering that attorneys do spend much of their day in court, and then have to handle preparation for cases on 'their own time' (taking it away from their families and kids) I think Karen in much more available than most. When you're going through a traumatic time, and anything in family law is exactly that...traumatic, you want immediate response to your questions. That's the hardest thing for clients to remember. I first hired Karen in/about 2003 and she never let me down. And, since her firm is not a 'by the hour' firm, but a flat fee firm, you don't get nickeled and dimed to death. And you still get excellent representation.

Divorce

I have had this lawyer under retainment for my divorce over the past 8 months and even though she is hard to get in contact with her ethics, professionalism, knowledge of the court system and her being in my corner has be refreshing. My case is coming to a close in the near future and I would highly ...recommend her to anyone with a family court issue. Giver her a call, you want her in your corner!!!!

Talks a great game, but doesn't deliver

Karen Baylor is by far the most awful attorney I have had the misfortune of dealing with. When I met with her she told me that she could help me get possession of my child, my case was common and she had tons of experience dealing with parental kidnap. I believed her and hired her thinking that her f...ire is what I needed. But in the end she was an absolute disappointment. She's impossible to reach, she doens't return phone calls, she didn't keep me up to date on the happenings of my case, she is extremely unprofessional frequently painting her nails while we were speaking, and she swears like a sailor. She has little to no working knowledge of family law and if she did that was not apparent in my dealings with her. She didn't file any papers on my behalf to make the law work for me nor would she notify me of important meeting times until the last time. She completely dropped the ball and my ex steam rolled me. I don't know if we lost because she was lazy or apathetic. In either case I would not recommend her unless you want to waste time, money, and tons of energy, or in my case my child who had lived with me.
