Would give ZERO STARS

Horrible attorney, look up her other reviews. She will take your money and never return phone call.

Find Absolutely Anyone Else

Find absolutely anyone else. Amy is very responsive until you hire her, at which point she starts slacking, missing deadlines, and stops responding altogether. I hired Amy back in December of 2018 to handle my divorce. She seemed like a decent attorney at the start, but then things slowly deteriorate...d. She didn't prepare me adequately for my hearing (had me meet her one hour before the trial just to go over what the process would be - that's it! no other prep). Most recently, she missed a filing deadline. Recently, there have been two large periods of time where she hasn't responded. The first was where 4 weeks passed with my trying to reach her before she finally responded and even apologized for not getting back to me sooner and promising she would respond to emails within 24 hours. I haven't heard from her since and I've been trying to reach her for 11 weeks now. I've tried her cell phone, office phone, email, texting, and even driving out to her office. I've filed a complaint with the bar. Find an attorney literally anywhere else, even off a bus-stop bench ad. 1 star is 1 star too many for her.

Fired

I hired Ms. Jones on 12/19/16. Initially everything went well and she was a power house until 11/13/18 when she filed a second lawsuit CC-18-06252-C on my behalf the day before sh had surgery. She was out of the office recovering for 14 days, so after the end of November I began to call her office... to see when the certified letters would be posted.  She gave me excuse after excuse for weeks as to why they had not, until I called and demanded some answers only to be told that that they had been found on a desk. They were not sent out until mid January, 45 days AFTER THE COURT ISSUED THE CITATION. The citations were returned unexecuted January 11, 2019 and SHE DID NOTHING on my case until on March 6, 2019 the judge filed a notice of dismissal for April 12, 2019. Ms Jones filed an order to retain and several other motions on April 11,2019, the day before the dismissal hearing.  The Judge filed a notice of deficiency on April 30, 2019.  Ms. Jones did not address the deficiency and the judge began to move the case for dismissal each month beginning 5/17/19, 6/21/19, 8/2/19 and 9/13/19. I demanded information and updates and was somewhat placated until 8/6/19. At the hearing on Friday, 8/2/19, Ms. Jones told me that she had e-filed the materials but that they had been rejected because they were of poor quality. I checked the court portal on Monday 8/5 and called the court clerk on Tuesday 8/6 asking why the documents had not been posted to my case.  They made it clear to me that there had been no attempts to post anything to my case by Ms. Jones electronically for months.  I called, emailed and texted her several times and got no response until I sent her a certified letter. She will tell you that her office was flooded with a sewer line break June 24,  which created a nightmare situation for her and that is very true......but that was AFTER the second dismissal hearing AND after she had received an affidavit from a process server that she should have filed with the court, BUT THERE IS NO DEFENSE FOR LYING TO A CLIENT WHICH SHE DID WIN GREAT DETAIL TO MY FACE. I feel that this Lawyer intentionally sabotaged my case.  She wasted precious months doing nothing and created great financial hardship for me because I had to hire new counsel and pay him to get up to speed on my case.

Aggressive and knows her stuff

Amy worked with my wife and I to update our Wills and guide us to create a more comprehensive document. Our previous wills were 30+ years old from time in the military. They were very generic. Amy took time and explained when and why we need to be more specific in these current times. You could g...et away with generic in the past due to value of our portfolio and existing laws. With the legal changes over the years, she explained why we needed to specifically document how and whom we wanted specific items to go to or be handled a certain way. I highly recommend Amy for any of your legal needs.
