Savvy, efficient lawyer

I am glad I hired this lawyer! He had been highly recommended to me by a friend, but I almost didn't hire him due to the bad reviews posted on this site. My friend said not to give up, that someone was "out to get him," and posted bad reviews a couple of years ago. I went ahead and hired him based... on my "picky" friend's recommendation. Mr. Jordan did a lot more work on my case than two others lawyers had done, and he got the "nightmare" taken care of permanently when the other two just charged me the fee up front and did not resolve the issue. I would hire this attorney again, and will recommend him to my friends.

Great, detail-oriented, lawyer

I hired Scott D. Jordan 3/12/16 to handle my "messy" divorce. I told him up front that there were child custody issues and other time-consuming problems. I also told him that I was a professional in a field that required 24/7, 70/80 hrs. per week of my time, and he would be pretty much on his own. ...He quoted a fee which was very reasonable, and I hired him. I have been very pleased with his work. Because he has 25 yeas of experience in the court system, he had my divorce finalized in a very timely manner. I would hire the dude again in a heartbeat!

Joke of a Lawyer

This man is a joke, I paid him money for an adoption and he never filed anything, never returned my calls. I went to his office at different times no one was there. I'm trying to get my money back but can't get him to call me back. I would never recommend him to anyone.

See The Deer in the Headlights Look on His Face?

Unbelievably ineffective as an attorney. Unreliable, Doesn't do what he says he'll do. Takes retainers, makes promises, never delivers. Makes excuses, delays, makes more excuses. Provides vague & general answers. Cannot commit to a specific date. Good at offering hope, never delivers after recei...ving your retainer money up front. Doesn't answer his office phone. Never returns phone calls. This guy is either a joke or a thief. LET THE BUYER BEWARE! Stay Away from this character... Specifically, this guy took a $2,500 retainer. That's all. He promised resolution w/in 6 months. After a year, he has literally done nothing! He hasn't filed a single document with the court, he doesn't return phone calls, emails I send to him are now rejected. On the two rare occasions he did accidently get cornered into communicating with me (exactly twice in a year) he first promised resolution w/in an additional 6 months, then after no performance - he told me that it would take two years. Still, to date, he has not filed one single document with the court. Nor has he followed through on any other task that he said he would do. I want my money back.

Very Unprofessional

I hired this attorney and he has not done anything on my case. He has not shown up for court at any of the hearing's, his paralegal came to court in his place. I have filed a grievence against him and do not recommend anyone hiring this man.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
