Great Firm and Attorney

This lawfirm helped me when I needed it most. They treat you like they have known you for years. Its rare to find a Lawfirm that actually cares like they do!

Great Experience

Higgins helped me file Chapter 13 2 years ago. They were very responsive and kept me informed throughout the process.

If you need a firm that will negotiate in your best interest, keep looking.

We have not had a good experience with Higgins and Associates at all. BUYER BEWARE. Do yourself a favor and run AWAY! We have been involved in a grueling, time wasting, stressful, chapter 13 bankruptcy with this firm. Our case should have been over and closed out already, but due to the mishandli...ng of our case it is still in limbo after 5 years. We have lost all the equity in our home due to the negligence of this firm. Yes, due to THEIR negligence. We know good & well you have to pay to keep your assets, but what their firm promises in the beginning & what they actually DO after they get your money are two entirely different things - then they make no effort to correct anything or negotiate in their client’s best interest – only their own. Their promises have not been kept and they have misrepresented things over and over again to us. They have not acted with any loyalty or in our best interest at all in regards to an issue we were promised in the beginning would be worked out appropriately. They are nothing but a cookie cutter firm that wants the easy way out. If you need a firm that will work hard to negotiate for you & be on your side, this firm is NOT it. I recently found out even the trustee's office gets tons of complaints about this firm so how anyone has had a good experience with these people is a surprise. The financial damages they have caused us far exceeds what they have charged in attorney's fees. Shame on you, Higgins and Associates for costing us over 5 years worth of stress, time wasted and thousands of dollars!

never returns calls

This firm handled our chapt 13 case. Issues have come up and we cannot speak with the attorney. Our only recourse is to send emails to a paralegal. We cant even speak to her on the phone. They never respond back. It will go for weeks until we call office and complain. Then maybe, if we are lucky, a w...eek later we will get an email back. Never a Call. We require a motion to be filed and still cannot get them to ever respond to the email. This firm does not care enough for its clients. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
