Showing 1 - 1 of 1 review | Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

Posted by Claude Clanton | December 07, 2011 | Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

Bad Attorney

I was a client of Morrison, He took our money for our case and advised us that he would hold our money and if we changed our mind and decied not to file that he would return our money. Well we decided not to file and he refused to refund our money. He is right it was a Chapter 13 and not a chapter 1...1. But he refused to refund our money, so either way he is wrong. Since I am wrong I am sure I can expect as check in the mail in the next few days.

Mr. Clanton was a client who failed to pay our firm completely for two prior cases. Although, our firm does not normally accept third time filings in this situation, we felt sympathy for the Clanton's position. However, as a condition of continued representation, we required a payment of only about 7% of the amounts already owed to the firm. After that amount had been paid and representation in their third case had begun, they decided not to file. Because the Clantons still owed the firm a great deal of money, we did refund any of the payments made to the firm because, in fact, no refund was due. It is a shame that Mr. Clanton would write such horrible lies after all we did to help him. I wish them nothing but the best of life for their future, and hope they can now move on.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
