All I can say is that I'm extremely grateful and lucky to have had Daniel Collins as my appointed lawyer. I was booked on bogus hearsay and charged with aggravated assault. I have diabetes and terrible neuropathy pain in my legs. I went from having my medication to going completely cold turkey locke...d up in jail. I tried to convince my family to make my reasonable bond, but nobody did. I can't really put into words how bad my legs hurt, but sitting in jail was not an option. I was charged with a state jail felony and I already have two prior drug charges...everyone I talked to said I was looking at one year jail time or, if I was lucky, 5 years felony probation. I don't have much money, and I have a 5 year old son I care for by myself. His father was killed just over a m...onth ago, I couldn't imagine doing time away from my son...and I def didn't want to have a felony on my record.
