Eric Cummings started specializing in criminal law even before being admitted to the Texas Bar in 2006. While a student at the University of Texas School of Law, Mr. Cummings participated in the rigorous Criminal Defense Clinic, representing indigent citizens in Travis County courts. During the summers, he interned at the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office and with the Honorable Ed Kinkeade, United States District Court judge for the Northern District of Texas. Upon graduating, Mr. Cummings honed his trial skills as a prosecutor in the Dallas County Criminal District Attorney’s Office, trying cases ranging from drug possession to DWI to murder. However, after a few years Mr. Cummings felt a calling to go back to the practice that he fell in love with in law school. In 2010, Eric Cummings opened the doors to his criminal defense firm in Fort Worth so that he could return to vigorously defending the rights of the citizen accused.

"Eric is bright and knowledgeable. Eric was an assistant district attorney on several cases where I was the defense attorney. He was always prepared and fair. We didn't always see eye to eye but, he was always reasonable. I would recommend him to anyone."
