Dena L. Wilson

Dena L. Wilson is a Partner in Varghese Summersett’s Family Law Division, where she guides individuals and families through major life transitions. A seasoned trial lawyer, savvy negotiator, and trusted advisor, Dena is known for successfully resolving complex and challenging cases, including high-net-worth divorces, contentious custody battles, and intricate property divisions.

With over two decades of experience in family law, Dena has walked clients through virtually every imaginable circumstance. She is especially drawn to cases that require sharp legal insight and creative problem-solving, where success depends on developing and executing a carefully tailored strategy. For some, that might mean reaching an amicable resolution through negotiation; for others, it may mean aggressively litigating their issues in court.

Whatever the strategy, Dena is dedicated to finding the right approach for each client’s unique situation, ensuring they are well-positioned and protected as they enter the next chapter in their lives.

Dena’s journey to the courtroom began in Ruston, Louisiana, where she set her sights on becoming an attorney at just four years old — a dream she never wavered from. She earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science with a minor in History from Louisiana State University, where she was an active member of the debate team.

She then moved to Texas and earned her law degree from Texas A&M School of Law (formerly Texas Wesleyan School of Law). From the outset, Dena gravitated toward family law — a calling that she said fit “like a glove.”

Since then, she has devoted her entire career to family law and is passionate about helping clients navigate life’s challenges and move forward with clarity and confidence.

In her free time, you will find Dena cheering on her beloved LSU Tigers, boating, decorating her home for the seasons, or simply spending time with her husband (also an attorney), teenage son, and adult bonus children.
