I was married for over 15 years and allowed certain benefits as a spouse that was leaving the marriage. I contacted Ms. Avalo's office and was told they were well versed on military divorces. The first problem was when I received my initial decree to review, it did not have anything about the retir...ement included. They had to go back and add that in. Then when we went to court, they filed the initial decree and not the one that I had approved. They then had to file an amended decree. I have since learned that the verbiage used in the amended decree is not sufficient and no orders that needed to be filed were ever filed. I now have to hire a second attorney to do what they couldn't do in the first or second place and hope that my ex doesn't fight it and that the judge will approve the 3rd request for an amendment.
