Jeremy Smith Willis

I showed up at the office for 3 scheduled meetings, only to find out that the meeting was cancelled and no one from the office called to notify me. I left 6 messages in 9 days for Mr Willis to call me, and never received a return call. When I ultimately complained to his secretary, Mr Willis dropped ...me as a client, leaving me unrepresented and keeping my retainer. Highly unprofessional. Further research has indicated that Mr Willis is consider arrogant and unethical. I wish I had done my homework BEFORE giving him my money

In dispute with my spouse, I hired this attorney to provide legal instruction to best protect myself. I became aware that Jeremy Willis consistently advised filing orders and actions that utilized my children as pawns to gain leverage against my spouse. Jeremy's unethical tactics complicated, incre...ased costs and created emotional suffering for my children and family. Creating amicable collaboration is not a goal for him. As if that not bad enough, he is not thorough, mostly unavailable, cancels or does not appear for meetings and shows up at the last minute without taking time to prepare an adequate client/attorney position.

My family was involved in an ugly guardianship case and Mr. Willis was appointed by the Judge to act as attorney strictly for the ward since both sides already had attorneys. Never having been involved in such a mess, I was completely clueless about how everything worked and was frankly irritated th...at we had yet one more attorney to answer to. Once Mr. Willis took a bio of all of the parties involved, he then became strictly focused on HIS client and what was best for HER (many times facing the anger of one side or the other). Mr. Willis never lost sight of who the case was actually about and how all decisions might impact his client - even more importantly to me, he always made sure I was aware of what any and all decisions meant. Not only was this important to me (I was not a party to the original Guardianship fight) but he helped us focus on what was meaningful to the case and what was merely emotional aggravation. While he would allow me to rant about the injustice of certain aspects of this mess as long as I needed to, he then always took to the time to steer me back to how best to help the ward (his client) in the case. I sat in court several times and listened carefully and never once heard Mr. Willis become distracted by the arrows flying back and forth between the 2 sides - when it was his turn to speak, he remained calmly focused on the needs of his client and made sure the court was not sidetracked by some of the shenanigans that played out. Now that the case has wound down and with the hindsight of 20/20 vision, I am amazed at the effort and energy displayed by the team of Mr. Willis. Even more astonishing is realizing they attacked this case the way they did while knowing they would receive next to no money from this as they were court appointed. In my opinion, he gave my family member an extra 9 months of life she would not have had in the situation he found her in and there are no words (no matter how long I make this commentary) that can adequately express my gratitude for that one fact.

All I had to do was follow his advice, retrieve signed notarized documents that his offices drafted and appear in court when asked, a few weeks later, I am happy to report I have full legal and sole custody of my child! It feels great, words can not express the feelings I possess about this matter and actually no words could ever describe my gratitude I have to Mr. Jeremy Willis and his Law office! Furthermore, I need to take a moment to comment about Ms. Becky White, Jeremy's legal assistant. Becky is knowledgeable, compassionate, and very respectful. Becky answered all my e-mails promptly with the utmost urgency and wisdom. The day of the final hearing my emotions ran heavily and I was overcome with many feelings about my personal situation. That day went fast and productively as Ms. Becky handed me the documentation that stated I was the sole legal guarding of my child. As you could imagine I was tearful, joyful, and so much more! Ms. Becky was there with her nurturing demeanor, listening ear, and knew just what to say to put my soul at ease. Additionally, she and Mr. Willis provided me with the information I needed to guide me through the next step to complete the process, i.e. birth certificate, social security card, you know the vital state records stuff. I highly recommend Mr. Jeremy Willis and his Law office to handle your Family Law matters, if you want caring individuals that seek justice for you in a productive detailed timely manner, then look no further you have found your Lawyer, Mr. Jeremy Willis, he puts your family first!

We're currently using Mr. Willis for a matter involving one of our children. At the first meeting he listened to us and said "I don't think you need to hire me yet. I think you can resolve this without me if you do the following." And then he laid out a plan for us. He didn't charge us a dime. When w...e showed up on his doorstep the next day after a wrench got thrown into that plan, we were confused and lost and didn't know what to do. He talked us through it and let us know that it was time to hire an attorney. It's been an incredibly emotional and stressful time for us and he's listened to us every time we need to just vent and cry and get it all out. He may not always answer the phone when we call (do you honestly expect him to sit at his desk and wait for you to call?), but anytime we stop by his office unannounced he's always met with us. Our case hasn't been resolved yet and I don't completely know what the outcome will be. But we hired Jeremy to tell us what we should do and to look out for our best interests, as well as the interests of our other children. Jeremy gave us his recommendation and explained why he feels that what we would like to do isn't in our best interest. But he also told us that if we really want to proceed with the alternative then he'll fight for us, and gave us an estimate of what it would cost and how long it would take. Jeremy knows that we do not have an unlimited fund for this case so he's given us simple tasks to do ourselves that he could easily have charged us thousands of dollars for. Our case isn't over so I suppose there's still the possibility of him dropping us as clients and leaving us in the lurch, but with as often as I've sat and cried in his office these last few wks I really can't see him doing that. If he does I'll come back and let y'all know! As far as the Dallas Cowboys comment, this person obviously didn't get to know their attorney very well because Jeremy would never stoop so low as to look at CowGirls material. In or out of the courtroom. He's smart enough to know that the Texans are the only team worth paying attention to. Is he arrogant? Yeah a little. Is he blunt? Absolutely. But do you really want an attorney who is going to walk into the court room and cower to the other side or avoid giving you the hard truth because he might offend you? And the comment about Becky was just rude and immature. Becky is a lovely woman who has never been anything but professional and friendly. She even entertained our children on a particularly emotional day when we made an impromptu stop by the office to see Jeremy. And the receptionist has done the same, even when the kids were tired and cranky and completely interrupted the work she was trying to accomplish. So while Jeremy may not be the warm, fuzzy, guy who is going to hold your hand and wipe away your tears, he does have a heart and he will let you cry while he hands you a tissue. But when the time comes he will also tell you to dry it up, put on your big boy panties, and deal with the hard stuff.
