Albert John Charanza Jr.

Al Charanza is an experienced Criminal Defense attorney in Lufkin. He has practiced law for over 25 years. He is board certified in Criminal Law and Criminal Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Specialization.

Al began his legal career as a Judge Advocate in the Marine Corps where he served as a criminal defense attorney while on active duty. After leaving active duty, Al has continued to serve in the Marine Corps Reserve as a Judge Advocate, Intelligence Officer and Personnel Officer. He retired with 26 years of military service and attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Al was an Assistant District Attorney for Angelina County for four and a half years. In 2003, he left the District Attorney’s Office and started his criminal defense practice.

Al’s criminal law practice in East Texas includes Angelina, Nacogdoches, Polk, Trinity, Cherokee, San Augustine, Sabine, Jasper and Tyler counties. However, clients have retained Al to represent them throughout Texas in state and federal courts due to his experience and reputation.
