I found Erick here on AVVO when I was looking for a DWI lawyer. I chose him because of all of his positive reviews he has received, and it was the BEST decision I could have made! I got pulled over leaving a bar in early 2014. It took 15 months for this to finally come to a resolution. Erick filed... a Motion to Suppress the case because he felt that the State Trooper who pulled me over the night of the DWI arrest had violated my rights and had no legal justification to pull me over. During the hearing, Erick was very well articulated at getting his points and reasoning across to justify the suppression and he WON ! The judge ruled in favor of the suppression and the case was dismissed. Erick was very determined to give me the best shot at getting off of the charges. He was very honest with me from day 1 after seeing all the evidence and knew he could have a real shot at getting it thrown out and he was right. He never once tried to get me to accept a plea deal or just offer me probation. He was willing to take it all the way to the end and fight for me. The case kept getting pushed over and over due to various reasons but Erick was very comforting along the way in making me feel good about the whole situation. A dwi case that drags on can take a toll on you, but Erick was always very good at making me feel that there was a "light at the end of the tunnel". He kept me informed along the entire 15 months and responded to all of my emails, call, and text messages in a timely manner if I ever had a question. When I was first calling around trying to find a lawyer, there are some less expensive lawyers out there than Erick but I am a true believer in "you get what you pay for", and Erick was worth every penny of his services. I would recommend Erick to everyone out there who may end up needing his services. He certainly lives up to all of the great reviews he has received.

Summer 2013 Driving north on Highway 155. I was arrested for DWI and taken to jail without a shirt on my back literally. My wife contacted Erick Platten, he came down to the jailhouse in the middle of the night got me out of jail, put a shirt on my back and told me not to worry about a thing. At this... point my future was looking grim. Erick Platten reassured me that this whole thing would just go away. After that night, I never heard another thing about my DWI arrest, somehow Erick was able to just make this whole thing go away there was never a case filed against me, nothing on my record, it all just went away Wow!
