Adoption Attorney

As first time foster parents we were not sure who to hire to represent us as we adopted our first foster child. Ms. Minatrea came very highly recommended by CPS, CASA and other foster parents. She was extremely professional and very knowledgable about the process. Ms. Minatrea truly cares about the p...eople she represents and it shows in her work. That is why we hired her again to do our second adoption.

Amicus lawyer

Amanda was appointed as my stepsons lawyer during our custody hearing. We pretty much new that we weren't going to get what we had hoped for as custody cases are usually quite difficult but she was horrible. At first she seemed fair when she spoke to my husband and me but after she spoke with my husb...ands ex she completely changed her tune towards us. She would communicate with my stepsons mother on a regular basis and we were unaware until we went to trial and she let the judge know about some incidents that never occurred. She spoke breifly with my stepson and came back with a letter written from my stepson that she read aloud. It said something like "sometimes when I get nervous I lie". Everything that she thought was true about the case had been completely false and all she said was. "My Bad". I have never heard a lawyer in my lifetime say my bad in a court situation where a child is involved. Needless to say we didn't use her again. Horrible, horrible, horrible. The only good thing I can say is she seemed to care. Her problem was not getting her facts strait.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
