Edward Choy is a great lawyer, the day I went in for the consultation I was nervous about my charge and was afraid on what I would be going through. Choy made it the easiest way possible for me, he made me seem like we knew each other for so long, very very friendly and he knows exactly what he’s doing. I was very confident in him and he sure did help me tremendously. I really appreciate how much he helped me and wouldn’t second guess using him again. Edward is a life-long resident of Longview, Texas. He attended Longview High School where he was an active member of the Longview Lobo football team. Once completing high school Mr. Choy attended The University of Texas at Austin and then went on to receive his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law. After graduating he began his career in 2008 as the Misdemeanor Prosecutor in Upshur County under the direction of District Attorney, Billy Byrd. Mr. Byrd was instrumental in Edward’s time with the Upshur County District Attorney’s office, educating Edward and providing him early-on opportunities to gain courtroom knowledge; all while molding Edward to become an aggressive trial attorney. Within nine months of starting his career, Edward was promoted to First Assistant District Attorney. During his time in Upshur County Edward gained valuable trial experience trying cases including DWIs, arson, drug possession, theft, assault, sexual assault and murders.

After becoming an experienced trial lawyer, Edward opened his own practice in 2012 with his sister, Lana Choy. Specializing in criminal law, Edward has represented thousands of clients. In 2016 colleague, John Hyatt, along with Mr. Choy, tried and received a not guilty verdict on a capital murder in Harrison County where his client was facing a possible life without parole. Along with a not guilty on a capital murder, Edward also obtained a dismissal on a separate murder charge the following month. In 2016 Mr. Choy tried three separate murder cases. As a former prosecutor, Mr. Choy understands the investigative techniques and trial tactics the government will employ to obtain a conviction. As a defense attorney, Mr. Choy has successfully represented clients in and outside of the courtroom.

Criminal defense

Quickly after meeting with Edward Choy, I knew he was the lawyer I needed on my side. He speaks with great passion, optimism and truth. It was a very stressful and scary time for me, but Mr. Choy's amazing attributes reassured and comforted me in a time of need. I started with five different misdemeanors (DUI, drug related, and a gun charge) and he brought it down to just one charge. Awesome attorney and staff

Mr. Choy handled things in my husbands case that a prior attorney neglected. He was able to my husband home way earlier than expected and honestly surprised me!! Super grateful for him and his staff!! Would definitely hire him if we ever needed to again!

awesome attorney

Edward Choy handled my dwi case my first offense and he was great. I was very pleased with the results. Mr. Choy answered every question in a timely manner no matter how often i asked him. Lifesaver

I hired Edward after I was arrested and charged with Deadly Conduct. Literally, as soon as I retained him he got on the phone with my county courthouse to start the working on the case. Edward was very understanding and worked with me to set up a payment plan. I'm glad I found Edward because I know the attorneys in my county are too passive, Edward is confident and will fight to the end. He is experienced and will tell you up front what he thinks will happen. Definitely go with Edward!!! If I end up ever needing another attorney, he is already set on emergency contacts in my phone!!!

AWESOME ATTORNEY

Edward was appointed to represent me on an assault/family violence case. I couldn't even pay him and he worked just as hard, if not harder, than most retained attorneys would. My case looked really bad for me, but he kept working with me to get me the best possible outcome. He wound up getting me deferred when I probably would've ended up in jail with someone else representing me. If I ever need an attorney again, I'll find a way to retain him. He's tough and works so hard for his clients. I'll Definitely recommend him to everyone I know.

Very Professional and to the Point

I hired Edward a year ago and he had been nothing but helpful and professional since day one. In our first conversation I explained my case and his response was don't worry bud, I can take care of this. I definitely believe in "you pay for what you get" and while there were probably cheaper choices out there for me to use I went with Edward and it has been money well spent to this day. Outstanding lawyer

I actually got a slightly better deal on my 2nd DWI when Choy represented me than before, on my 1st, when some one else did. His prices are extremely competitive with many of the big name lawyers.

LAWYER OF THE YEAR!

He's a "PITBULL" in the Legal System! Mr. Choy saved me and my husband from prison. My husband had a drug and child endangerment charge and I had a child endangerment charge. He was able to get all of our charges dismissed and taken completely off our records. He worked with us on payments and was hands down the best lawyer I've ever had the pleasure of meeting with.

Dropped state and Federal Charges!

I was in deep **** due to me hacking into peoples accounts and making loads of money from it. I was facing up to 30 counts of ID theft,Federal Theft, Computer Hacking and so much more. I was looking at Federal Jail Time. Mr. Choy helped me out and let me pay bi weekly to work with my payment! He had to go against Texas Secret Service and Longview PD! After 6 Months, the Case was dropped with all charges! No Probation, No jail time not even a single Court visit!

SUPRISE

Mr.Choy saved me from going to jail,it was great. Originally I had another pre-trial attorney for over a yr 1/2 and heard the whole time"there's nothing I can do".By the grace of God ,Choy was assigned to my case and in less than a week was showing me statutes and laws that were in my favor.i still got probation ,and a lot of it ,but that's better than prison any day . I would definately recommend him ,if you want to come out on top. Thank you mr.choy ,for a job well done.
