Fantastic attorney and staff

Mr. Delk has assisted me on numerous cases in numerous areas of the law. He fought hard for me and helped me win custody of my daughter. He helped me gain a favorable outcome on a personal injury case as well. He and his staff kept me up to date on the progress of my case every step of the way. I hig...hly recommend him to anyone needing legal assistance; he will fight hard and diligently represent you in your case.

Unprofessional, discourteous, rude

I was assigned this person when I retained the Imhoff and Associates law firm to help with a case involving my son. I retained the firm in September 2010. Mr. Delk was assigned to the case on 9/13. Spoke with him the first time on 9/14. My son had been incarcerated since 2/5/10 and I was eager to ...get this taken care of. The town in Texas where he was only heard his type of cases through the end of October and didn't reconvene until the following year. I spent the next 6 months calling and leaving messages. I'd get him on the phone only to be rushed off because he was busy. He promised many times to call me back but did not. I would call and set up a phone consultation with him only to be forgotten. My son, who was his actual client, met him 3 times; the first time to introduce himself, the 2nd time at my insistence and the 3rd time at court. I have been told that I would have gotten the same level of service from the court appointed attorney and would have saved myself literally thousands of dollars. When this finally got to court, he was late enough to court for the sheriff's office to call me. I have never had someone in this sort of profession that completely disregarded my feelings, ignored my questions and his own client, told me things that turned out to be untrue, and was disrespectful enough to be late to court, the last thing he had to do with this case. I will never want anyone else to have to go through this sort of trauma.

bankruptsy

He reviewed all my bills incured becaue of a divorce. After some time, he explained to me that i would be 103 years old by the time i got everything paid off, if all i could do was pay the minimun. I asked if bankruptsy was the only way. He said i had other options, and explained those to me, but... i opted for bankruptsy. He walked me through the process, and i got a new start.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
