Mr. Howard grew up believing that science and math were the foundation of his career. He learned about potential energy and aerodynamics starting with pinewood derbies; statics and material science in Odyssey of the Mind competitions; computer programming when he couldn’t get a Nintendo; and lab techniques and genetics when working with plant retroviruses.
But Andrew also appreciated communicating ideas. From pitching his projects at science fairs to working as a teaching assistant for C++ programming in college, he learned that the ability to communicate technical ideas required a greater understanding than learning them in the first place. While serving as president of his fraternity, he learned that rules and regulations can have as much power as scientific laws and that persuasively communicating within that framework was equally challenging. And while working his way through college bouncing, waiting tables, bartending, managing a call center, and selling accounting books, Andrew learned that each audience requires a different approach and that different problems require differing strategies.
Mr. Howard then enrolled in law school at Washington and Lee. He was a teaching Burks Scholar, Evidence Scholar, was awarded a Judicial Externship, and graduated with honors and multiple awards. Just as important as the legal lessons he learned, Mr. Howard learned about a lawyer’s non-delegable duties and obligations to his clients, community, and the practice of law—lessons that molded his long-standing desire to start his own practice. The practice of law is a profession that requires honor, dignity, and dedication to clients above all, and Andrew provides that to each and every client.
After graduation from law school, Mr. Howard practiced with Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP (now Foley Gardere) and Shore Chan DePumpo LLP, where he litigated against the biggest firms, with fantastic lawyers and mentors, over hundreds of millions of dollars. He now brings that experience to bear for his existing and future clients.
Mr. Howard is a lifelong fan of the Florida Gators and enjoys lifting weights, riding his bike when time permits, and is forever grateful for the support of his wife and two boys.
