Kim is a very awesome DUI and DWI defence lawyer. i was visiting the dallas area and was involved in an accident on my way to the airport. Myself and the other driver was arrested for DUI. I started looking for a defence attorney and i spoke to every attorney i could find but decided to go with kim. ... She didn't charge so much and she also sounded caring to me with the way she spoke and explained how the whole process might go and all possible outcomes but made me aware that the goal is to get a dismissal which all the other attorneys did not do with me. She started by making sure my License was not suspended and i didn't have to be paying surcharges to DPS. She made it happen and my license was not suspended and no surcharge. She then went to represent me in criminal court. She ALWAYS communicated with me and kept me informed of what was going on. i really could not believe that an attorney would check up on their clients the way she did even when she didn't have to. she kept me calm and asked me to be patient, that i did. THe court came back and said my BAC was 0.01 and needed to run a drug analysis which came back negative. At that time, they now offered me a deal for obstruction, saying they can calculate my BAC level to the time the accident occured. Kim advised me to refuse the deal and advised me to be patient because the goal is to a dismissl. And to my greatest joy, After going back and forth and even willing to take the care to trail before either a Desk hearing or a Jury hearing, she got it DISMISSED, with no penalty whatsoever. She helped me conquer my fears and kept me calm even when i was losing hope or going crazy over the case. I was introduced to Dawna Kim July of 2018. After an unfortunate night, I was charged in Dallas County with a DWI. From stories I had heard of people with DWI charges I immediately thought the worse and thought my professional career was over before it started. During this process a pandemic hit due to COVID and added even more stress to my life on top of my case. Dawna reassured me she was going to do everything in her power to get me the best possible deal. She constantly reminded me not to worry. All I simply needed to do was keep living my life as normal as possible, and to stay out of trouble in the meantime. There was a point I had thrown in the towel and ready to give up and sign for a misdemeanor DWI, 18 months probation, interlock and move on with my life. My court date was set and she reached out to me and convinced me to hang in there just a little while longer. She fought hard for me and ended up getting my blood work thrown out from the case and struck a deal to drop my DWI charge to Obstruction of highway with no interlock and ONLY 6 months probation with no reporting required! I worked with Ms. Kim a few years ago regarding a DWI charge. Obviously, this can be a very stressful time. Ms. Kim was very supportive and makes you feel at ease. She was able to get my license back without suspension and was even able to get my DWI dismissed! Fast forward a few years....Again she w...as able to get my license back without suspension.....Fingers crossed on the DWI charge. Ms. Kim is very approachable, supportive, and she works hard on your behalf, with a quick response anytime you have questions or if there are any updates on your case! I had a history of alcoholism. On the night in question, things got very physical between my husband and me. The cops showed up. The end result, I was detained. This was my first time in the judicial system, and I was very scared and very confused. I was charged with a First-degree felony charge a...nd a Class-A misdemeanor. Originally I was assigned a court appointed attorney who I never met with and given my first court date. I had no idea how to meet my attorney, how long I was going to be in jail, how to post bail. I was scared and clueless. Fortunately for me, my husband was already looking for a new attorney. He found Dawna Kim after doing some cold calls and google cross referencing. She was very prompt at getting back to him and walked him through the process of posting bail, and how long I’d have to wait before being released. Once I was released I went to her office and discussed the events leading up to the night in question. She talked about the gravity of the charges and immediately started working on a plan to get the charges dismissed. She asked me not to attend court, which as of great relief, during the preliminary proceedings. And the other court dates as well. Since she was hired to represent me in court, this made sense, as she knew the court system better than I did. This was very beneficial because it allowed me to attend outpatient, anger management classes and juggle a job. I met with her at her office after the court dates to discuss my case, and what the next steps were for getting the case dismissed. Although she had an office line, my main communication with her was text messaging. Which, I’ll admit was weird to me at first, but with Miss Kim being in court, working long days, and juggle several clients, texting her ended up being a very reliable form of communication. And if I needed I could still call her to clarify any communications. From beginning to end the cases and charges went from May 2015 to February 2016, with the end result of having all the charges DISMISSED! Had I not had Dawna Kim, I am most certain that I would be tying this from inside the walls of a penitentiary. This is not to say that Miss Kim will do this for every case, since mine was unique to me. But she does know the court system. She was very professional, very reliable and I would hands down recommend her. I hope I never need her services again.
