Yes, most teachers qualify except for Montessori schools. Very few non-college positions are available until Oct 1, 2021.

You do not need to file a 944 anymore. It also is not clear why the 485s were rejected.

It will not impact the green card but if you are out for more than six months, you restart the five-year wait to file for US citizenship. f
