When I was a teenager, my dad told me that I was destined to practice law. After my initial denial, he turned out to be right. What he didn’t foresee was my service in the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps of the U.S. Air Force. After I completed my undergraduate degree at Texas Christian University and commissioned into the United States Air Force, I attended Texas Wesleyan School of Law in Fort Worth. Attending law school as a commissioned officer gave me great pride and determination to make my military comrades proud. I knew the principles I learned each day could make or break decisions made in stressful and dangerous battle-field conditions.
Upon law school graduation, I was assigned to Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora, Colorado. During my time at Buckley, I worked both as a prosecutor and as a defense attorney. My other duties included providing legal assistance to our active duty and reserve personnel and retired military families. It was here that I discovered my true calling—helping families with their legal issues, oftentimes in stressful situations—while finding a solution in an efficient way.
I knew when my time in the military came to an end, my years of advising hundreds of military families would lead me to estate planning. My family and I returned to our home state of Texas and I now provide all estate planning services including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, living wills, and healthcare directives. I also handle uncontested probate cases and miscellaneous areas of the law as needed.
On the weekends you’ll find me at our little girl’s soccer game, at the dog park with our lab, working on any one of my 1 million DIY projects, or cheering my husband on in a golf tournament.
I look forward to getting to know you and your family as we check off your legal to-do list.
