Exceptional Owner & Tennant Rights Lawyer!

If you ever feel like there is nowhere else to turn when you are 100% in the right and being treated unfairly by Greedy Corporate Conglomerate Rental Agencies staff - affecting your credit and ability to lease again by negative reporting to credit agencies, look no further than The Alford Law Firm!! ... I am a homeowner, but work on the road on long projects and have to rent properties and had an experience where I felt the stigmatism of being a tenant which is why I am writing this review if you too ever feel helpless but are in the right, to reach out to The Alford Law Firm whom will fight for you and win! I had an 18 mo. rental on a home in the Humble area and renewed the lease for another 12 mo. I got word of the need to transfer me to another job site about 2 1/2 mo. from the end of my 12 mo. lease and put in a request for a 60 day move out notice to one of my many property managers assigned or changed on my property over the course of 2.5 yrs. My inquiry was to see how much it would be to break the lease and provide feedback to my manager to determine which was best to go. The cost to break my lease 60 days early was far more than just paying the next 2 months + a few prorated days so I replied to my manager (cc'd 3 of them in all emails) that I would not be moving out and rather fulfill my lease and paid my normal rent through the portal. When the next month's rent came due - the amount due in the app was more than 2x times the normal rent due $3900! I tried to pay my normal rent $1900 but the key application would not take my normal rent amount as it was less than what was incorrectly due. I was working nights at the time and could never get an explanation as to what the issue was so moved out on my move out date, disconnected utilities, cleaned everything very well and most importantly took lots of pictures! I figured I'd pay my last month's rent and let them keep the deposit to break even. Well, what ended up happening is collections started sending me invoices for over $10k due and I tried several times to request an itemized breakdown of these extra charges and never could get an answer so I could pay last 2 month's rent that I wasn't able to pay with their pay portal app and was told in email reply that this matter would no longer be discussed in emails and would need to be discussed over the phone dismissively. Eventually, the Leasing Firm dropped a $9,800 claim to the credit agencies that I noticed when applying for an apartment on another recent job and I became extremely upset as this was unfair credit reporting and is now affecting my life and livelihood! Infuriated, I determined to seek a Tennant Rights Lawyer and am so grateful that I came across The Alford Law Firm! After sending all my emails, pictures, documentation - it became evident to Bruce that the leasing company treated my move out as I broke the lease and didn't update their system when I stated in writing in email that I would be fulfilling the lease. Bruce was able to get the entire claim, in a matter of 4 weeks or so, dropped by the rental agencies lawyers as well as the bogus credit collection removed from all of my Credit reports!! VICTORY IS SWEET!!! Thanks Alford Law Firm!

Our Super Hero Lawyer!

I highly recommend Bruce Alford at The Alford Law Firm located in Dallas! I have 2 words to describe Bruce Alford: Legal Lifesaver! My boyfriend who was behind on paying his bills due to situations beyond his control was being sued by a credit card company and their collection lawyers were constantly... mailing him legal paperwork and wanted to take him to court. My boyfriend had no lawyer so his plan was to just to just show up to the court hearing and have the collection attorneys put a judgement on him because he thought he didn't have any other choice. I decided to step in at the very last minute which was about 2 weeks from his court date. I wanted to find an attorney that specializes in debt collection defense and I called around to several attorneys who specializes in that and was getting discouraged because some don't call you back and some just say they're too busy and that our case was too last minute. Bruce was the only one who not only called me back right away but decided to help us out by taking on my boyfriend's case! Bruce immediately reached out to the collection attorney and said to send all legal paperwork to his office and to let them know he would be representing my boyfriend's case! This was back in October and Bruce went to work right away! Bruce submitted a motion of continuance to the judge to reset the trial date and thankfully the judge granted his motion! Hallelujah!!! Which gives us more time to prepare and for Bruce to work on negotiations with the collection attorney. The case is still ongoing but I wanted to write this review because I didn't know anything about debt collection defense and you really do need hire a lawyer to represent you when dealing with collection attorneys. I'm so thankful we found Bruce because he has helped us out so much! He is always available when we have a question about something so he's just really good at being there for his clients! He's honest and dependable! Bruce has been doing this for over 30 years so thank the heavens we found a lawyer who specializes in my boyfriends case! Thank you Bruce for taking great care of us and for being our super hero lawyer! I highly recommend Bruce Alford for all of your legal needs in debt collections!

Took my $2000.00 retainer did nothing to show for it

I was working with Mr. Alford on a wage garnishment and a offer and compromise on an old SBA loan. I did all the paperwork, and most of the footwork, provided him copies of everything I had already done, correspondence I had made, letters etc. He would only return calls after I made complaints online... at his firm or call and threaten to turn him in to the state bar. My last correspondence with him was March 7, 2017 at 7:37 am after I made my last complaint and I requested an itemized billing statement because I felt he did not do enough work to justify $2000.00 as he did nothing or provide any proof of doing anything with the offer and compromise paperwork I provided to him, nor did he stop the wage garnishments. He responded back and told me he would work on the itemized bill. This was March 7, 2017 at 3:35. I have keep every transaction between us, which is a total of 5 emails from him. 1 this above and 3 asking to resend a document he kept saying he did not get, 1 other for a different doc. I think he called me maybe 3 or 4 times tops but of course that was after my complaints of him not contacting me. I should have turned him into the state bar after he did promised to send an itemized bill and did not. It is probably to late to do that, so hopefully I can be helpful to someone else.

Excellent Attorney for Creditor Lawsuit

We hired Bruce Alford to assist us when a creditor filed a lawsuit regarding a substantial amount of money. Bruce was able to get the total judgment reduced significantly, as well as negotiate an EXTREMELY low monthly payment to the creditor. Bruce was very responsive and kept us up to date on progr...ess of our case. We genuinely felt that Bruce cared about our situation and wanted to get us the best settlement possible. I would absolutely use him again and will definitely recommend him to friends and associates.

Experienced Credit Card Litigation Attorney

During my bankruptcy several credit card companies were suing me. It was overwhelming and intimidating, yet Bruce had me at ease after the first meeting. He worked so quickly, and I was amazed by the scope of his knowledge. The results Bruce obtained far exceeded my expectations, and I wouldn't hesi...tate to recommend him.
