Misty Brickey Cole

Misty B. Cole joined McCathern’s Family Law section as an Associate Attorney in 2014.  Misty has extensive experience in multiple fields including family law litigation, contract disputes, insurance defense, premises liability, product liability, construction litigation (defect and injury), and personal injury cases.  She has extensive trial and deposition experience, including participating in over 200 depositions, deposing both fact and expert witnesses.  Misty began her legal career in Oklahoma before moving to Texas in 2000.  She has represented Fortune 500 companies, as well as small business owners, and now concentrates on helping families through divorce and child custody matters.  Misty has experience handling all aspects of family law matters including divorce, protective orders, enforcement of prior orders, temporary restraining orders, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, and modification of prior orders.

Misty is a graduate of Oklahoma State University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in political science with a minor in journalism.  She was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society, and interned with the State Senate of Oklahoma in Media Relations.  She was also on the National Dean’s List.

Misty attended law school at the University Of Tulsa College Of Law where she graduated with Honors.  She served as magister of Phi Delta Phi, international honor society, was on the Faculty Honor Roll, and received the CALI Award in Labor Law. While in law school, Misty interned with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the U.S. Probation Office for the Northern District of Oklahoma.

Misty is currently licensed to practice law in Texas, Oklahoma, and Colorado, and is admitted to practice in all federal district courts in Oklahoma and the Northern, Southern, and Eastern federal district courts in Texas.  She is also a member of the Dallas Bar Association.

Misty’s husband, Ryan, is also an attorney and they have 3 active girls.  Misty is a volunteer coach for girls’ soccer and basketball, and likes to travel and read in her free time.
