David T. Bunger

Dave Bunger has practiced litigation in North Texas Courts since 2006 and is the co-founder of the Bunger Law Firm.  Mr. Bunger brings a varied professional background to his law practice that enables him to see each legal issue from multiple perspectives.  Mr. Bunger is passionate about helping families throught the North Texas area when faced with a wide variety of family related issues.

Growing up and educated in North Texas, Dave Bunger first began a successful career in 1992 in mental health while working at Terrell State Hospital.  During his career in public schools as a Licensed School Psychologist, Dave conducted extensive assessments of children with psychological and educational challenges. He assisted in the Admission Review and Dismissal (ARD) process for provision of special education services and advised Section 504 committees in the implementation of academic and behavioral accommodations. Mr. Bunger also worked extensively on the development of  educational programs to assist in monitoring the behavior of emotionally disturbed children. Dave spent countless hours providing knowledgeable, helpful, and caring psycho-therapy to individuals and families suffering from mental health issues.  The requirements of being a good listener and empathetic professional in mental health has enabled Mr. Bunger to be extremely effective in assisting his clients with their legal problems and also empathetically relating to their emotional challenges.

Following his career as a mental health professional, Mr. Bunger pursued a legal education and received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law in 2006.  After two years representing clients in a private practice, focusing on family, criminal, and educational law, Mr. Bunger joined the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office in 2008. During his tenure as a Chief Prosecutor of the of the financial crimes based divisions, Mr. Bunger gained invaluable experience in the judicial system and earned a reputation among local criminal defense attorneys as an outstanding litigator and negotiator. He handled hundreds of white collar crime cases and supervised numerous lawyers, investigators, and support staff while managing one of the largest divisions within the District Attorney’s office. In 2015, Mr. Bunger rejoined The Bunger Law Firm with the goal of providing high quality, personalized legal services for individuals and families. He has enjoyed a long and successful career of helping individuals and families through difficult situations.

Regarded as a knowledgeable and often entertaining public speaker, Mr. Bunger has provided numerous staff development sessions and seminars concerning a variety of psychological topics. He has enjoyed teaching psychology courses at Texas junior colleges and universities since 1995.  Mr. Bunger lives in Dallas with his wife and two young daughters. He also enjoys playing music professionally and working with other musicians as a recording studio engineer.
