Susan Elizabeth Egeland

Susan Egeland is a partner with Hawkins Parnell Thackston & Young LLP in Dallas, Texas. In her years as a litigator, she has defended product manufacturers, corporations, banks, financing institutions, premises owners and individuals, primarily in the areas of product liability and business litigation. She has also handled employment disputes, large commercial cases, construction liens and several cases related to fire casualty and property loss.

Always results-oriented, Susan has successfully defended hundreds of cases from inception through dismissal, settlement or trial. She also manages national litigation for several large corporate clients, including coordination of national trial strategies, training of local counsel across the country, coordination of written discovery responses, and daily reporting to in-house counsel and insurance carriers.

Susan listens to and respects her clients’ needs, always striving for the best resolution while conscious of the costs to her clients. She is skilled in all phases of litigation including written discovery; taking and defending depositions of plaintiffs, corporate witnesses and expert witnesses; drafting and arguing innovative pre-trial and discovery motions; and advocating for her clients at trial. Licensed in Texas, Arkansas, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Mississippi and admitted to practice in all federal courts in Texas, Susan has first-chaired several bench trials and first- and second-chaired several jury trials across the country.
