AI-summarized from Avvo client reviews

Many reviews express significant concerns regarding the lawyer's follow-through, communication, and perceived lack of expertise, with some clients reporting cases being dropped or negative outcomes. A smaller number of reviews, particularly for title services, note responsiveness, efficiency, and good pricing.

This Guy Is Not an Attorney, He is a Con-Artist

When I first contacted Veach he was fired up about my case. I paid him a large amount up front. A couple of months later I contact him for an update. He gives me this sob story about how him and his wife are struggling to make ends meet because he is a new attorney and trying to make it on his own.... I send him several more thousands of dollars. He acted very graciously and laid out this grand plan of how my case was going. He claimed he had sent the defendant's attorney all these papers and had filed all these motions. He told me how things were going and what to expect. Then months later the defendant fires his attorney and gets a new one. All of the sudden Veach's attitude changes. He has supposedly talked to the defendant and his attorney and now it seemed they were running to show. Veach lied to me and then when the well went dry he dropped my case because he said he had other bigger cases to worry about. I have never met him in person, but now believe he is a con-artist and should be brought up on ethics charges by the State Bar Association. I now have to find another attorney and start the whole process over. He never offered to return any of the money I paid him.

Eviction

You better watch your back with this attorney. He was contacted to represent me during an eviction case. He contacted the other party and then his advice to me was to pay the tenant for my keys. He apparently had an extensive conversation with the tenant and he provided the tenant information that on...ly he and I would know. As such, I received a text from the tenant with the data regarding how he was obtained as legal counsel. TRUE RATING: ZERO STARS

Eviction case

He was hired for an eviction case. He filed the motion and spoke to me over the phone yet he did no real work on the case other than respond by email to the judge. He told me to not worry about the case and that he had it all under control. I sent him evidence I had against the tenant. On the court d...ate, he requested a virtual hearing, we both were logged in, once the judge proceeded to ask him questions, he disappeared from the hearing and left me on there not knowing what to do next. The judge ultimately ruled in favor of the tenant because Mr. Veach had not done what he was hired to do and submit the evidence. I called him after the hearing and he told me he thought we might lose so he logged off. I am out of money and stuck with a no paying tenant in my home. I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND NICHOLAS VEACH. He may be good at talking you up to believe he is confident in his job but he is far from it. He never did any real work towards my case which I saw once we had the hearing. I could’ve used the money I paid him elsewhere and just done it myself. If I could rate him at zero stars I would.

Do your due diligence when you hire an attorney

Veach's prices are good, but his follow through is poor. I hired him for a property transfer for an investment property. Our agreement was that he would file 1) Warranty Deed, 2) Contract Deed. I paid $500 for this upfront. Documentation was signed for both docs and returned to him. He faile...d to file the Contract Deed. I was not aware of this omission until recently, when trying to refinance. Our correspondence ended with him saying he was closing my file. While I could take him to small claims court and probably win - I don't have time and live in another state. To be fair to Veach if you understand what documents need to be filed, and follow through to make sure things are filed he will work out for you. While knowledgeable, his attention to detail and follow through is poor.

  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
