Donald Richard Jones

I hired Don to represent me in a legal dispute relative to real estate. As a real estate agent, he was also serving as my real estate broker. He feigned concern in the matter and agreed to represent me. I paid him in full for every billing for a total fee of $2000. When he learned he would need to ap...pear in a Tarrant County courtroom, he requested to be relieved by the judge and he walked away from his representation. He gave me no reason for his decision and left me without the means to hire another attorney. If he had told me up front that he intended to bail out prior to a conclusion, I would have found other counsel from the beginning. I was out $2000 in legal fees with nothing to show for it. I requested a refund on the fees more than once and was offered $100 because as he said "I consider you my friend." After this terribly disappointing experience, he came back later on another issue and claimed I owed him for two days of legal services when all he did was respond to a letter and did not even provide me a copy of his response. His response to that letter was part of his services as a broker for which I also paid him on a monthly agreement. The evidence suggests that he uses his brokerage services as a pipeline to solicit legal services and blurs the lines between the two.

I hired Donald to help me and my family with a sensitive estate planning matter. He immediately swung into action and put us in an asset protection plan that now protects our entire estate (which is several hundred thousand dollars). I was floored when Donald explained the law and the asset protect...ion resources that were available to us. I never would have expected that he could do what he did. And, he did it all quickly and ethically for a very reasonable fee.
