Tarron L. Gartner

My practice is focused on commercial and personal insurance coverage litigation involving a wide variety of contemporary and traditional issues.  I represent both insurers and policy holders in insurance coverage and bad faith disputes.  I have focused the entirety of my practice for the past 23 years on the resolution of insurance coverage disputes, including cases involving D&O, E&O, and professional liability policies, fidelity bonds and policies insuring financial institutions, occupational injury and disability policies, commercial general liability policies, media and techonology (cyber liability) policies, homeowners, farm & ranch and personal and commercial auto policies, interlocal insuring agreements, public sector policies, environmental, oil & gas and other specialty risk policies, sports and entertainment policies, and personal and commercial property policies, all involving a wide range of issues and concerns.  Prior to joining Cooper & Scully, I spent close to a decade as a Second Vice President of a A+ rated insurer, first as a Managing Claim Coverage Counsel, and later as a General Counselor.  While at Travelers I was responsible for the operation and management of a six-member team of attorneys providing legal counsel and advice to the claim and underwriting departments for a ten-state region.  In that capacity I (an my direct reports) provided coverage opinions, represented the company directly in coverage and extra-contractual disputes, participated in the drafting and revision of policies and manuscript products, provided nationwide training to claim and underwriting personnel.
