Ruth Jennings Mitchell

Ruth Mitchell practices in all areas of transactional law. Her experience includes transactional banking and commercial real estate law with a concentration on real property acquisition, disposition and leasing, mortgage lending and finance, office, warehouse and shopping center leasing, corporate and business law, general business transactions, real estate brokerage licensing, secured transactions, as well as loan servicing litigation.

Ms. Mitchell earned her undergraduate degree from Texas State University and graduated with honors. Ms. Mitchell then attended the University of Texas School of Law and was awarded the opportunity to study Comparative Legal Studies and International Trade abroad at the University Diego Portales School of Law in Santiago in Chile and the University of Buenos Aires in Buenos Aires in Argentina.

Next, Ms. Mitchell worked in the corporate world of finance as a residential loan processor and team loan officer.  Her business experience has allowed her to more thoroughly understand and easily relate to the needs of her client.

Assisted New York investment group with the acquisition of a nine-property 2,594-unit portfolio of multi-family properties located in Houston, Texas;

Representation of commercial and residential purchasers and sellers in the sales and acquisition of real estate, review acquisition loan documents and purchase and sale documents;

Land acquisition due diligence issues, including title and survey matters;

Assisted landlords, tenants and property managers in various aspects of commercial and residential leasing;

Business entity formation, operation and termination;

Draft, review and negotiate contracts and agreements of various types;

Advises clients regarding real estate brokerage licensing.
