I am a lawyer who focuses his practice on workers' rights. I like helping people. When a company causes harm or loss to a current or former employee, I try to help that employee recover. Gibson Wiley PLLC is a law firm dedicated to providing representation to people in disputes with current or former employers. I work for, and am co-owner of, that law firm.
I have represented numerous employees in various types of employment litigation. Over the years, I have represented nurses, police officers, laborers, executives, administrative assistants, lawyers, sales associates, managers, educators, and many, many others.
I served for about a decade on the Council governing the Labor and Employment Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. I was Chair of that section. I am also currently the President of the Texas Employment Lawyers Association -- a voluntary bar association of lawyers who help workers in employment matters throughout Texas. I have presented continuing legal education seminars to other lawyers in the field of employment law for over twenty years.
I am a former two-year law clerk to Judge Mary Ann Vial Lemmon of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana in New Orleans. I am a graduate of the St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, where I served as a Comment Editor on the Editorial Board of the St. Mary’s Law Journal. I am also a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas.
I am licensed to practice law in Texas. I keep an inactive license to practice law in Louisiana and Tennessee too. For three consecutive years, the Texas Super Lawyers edition of Texas Monthly Magazine listed me as a “Rising Star” in the field of Plaintiff’s Employment Litigation. For the past six years, that magazine has listed me as a "Super Lawyer" in that field.

Brilliant legal advocacy: successful result!
I retained David Wiley services based on the recommendation of a close friend. Upon first speaking with David it was a very easy conversation describing my situation position, he intuitively understood everything and was able to devise a legal strategy immediately. Legal situations are usually tense...
"David Wiley is one of the BEST MENTORS that have ever met in my life. It is an honor to learn from someone who shows you the ropes of litigation, is hands on, encouraging, attentive, and patient. If I were helping anyone else building a thriving law firm, David Wiley is for sure a go-to in Labor & Employment Litigation and business ownership. HUGE SMILES."
"I endorse this lawyer. We have worked closely together in various professional associations, and I regularly talk with him and hear him speak on employment matters. He and his law partner Amy Gibson are among my go-to referral sources for employment cases that I am unable to take for whatever reason. David is a fine lawyer. I'd trust him to represent me and my own family"
