A patent application is a unique legal document for an invention, and must describe how to make and use the invention to one of "ordinary skill in the art." I have experience with patent applications in many technology areas, but primarily work in electronic and software fields. Patents that I have obtained for clients have been tested in litigation and in post-grant challenges at the patent office, and have stood up to those challenges.

I have helped clients with defending their patents from unauthorized use by others, defending against improper claims of infringement, and with product design to avoid infringing the patents of others. I also have experience in appealing patent matters to the Federal Circuit, and most notably wrote the briefs that resulted in the reversal of an invalidity decision by the Patent Trial and Appeal Board at the Federal Circuit in In re Magnum Oil.
